Xbob42
All QTEs are bad. The QTE boss fight in RE4 would've been better as a cutscene or as just more action gameplay. The QTE element completely distracted from being able to enjoy the action and the sweaty biceps.
Bacon
I love it. It fits RE4 to a T. Won't say there aren't better ways, but I'd never remove them from RE4 retroactively.
XxEvil AshxX
So I'm gonna say.... the BEST part of playing Resident Evil 4 for the first time back in, what... 2004, was that aside from the opening village scene, we knew VERY little about the game. The later parts were nothing but 'holy shit' moments becasue we just didn't know where the game was gonna go. I kinda feel like they're doing the game a disservice by showing so much of it. I get it, there's nothing to "spoil" but I kinda want to be surprised by where and what the game changes, including the updated visuals and monster designs. I've been trying to maintain a media blackout on the game, but some of the Youtubers I follow have been launching straight into the footage with no warning, and it kinda sucks. They've already shown so much of the game and we still have like, a month and a half before launch.

Keyser_Soze
So something that you might have missed, the suplex is in the game. Also as for QTEs I think you guys don't know what a QTE is. They both looked like common button prompts for combat. One was to dodge and the other was to mash a button when a guy is on top of you, the same thing that happens when a zombie gets on you. Commissar SFLUFAN
Articles: Resident Evil 4 remake brings back the B-movie cheese (and suplexes) missing from modern games | GamesRadar+ WWW.GAMESRADAR.COM The Resident Evil 4 remakes offers a fresh look at Ramon Salazar, the Garrador and Krauser's knife fight Quote The latest slice of Resident Evil 4 remake footage shows Leon Kennedy storming the gates of Salazar's Castle with Ashley Graham in tow. In his bid to keep the US president's daughter safe, he shoots a zombified clergyman between the eyes through the lens of a sniper rifle. He floors another man with a form-perfect roundhouse kick. As the latter body hits the deck, Leon unloads a shotgun on the poor bastard at point-blank range before, moments later, he stuns another with a flash bang before slitting his throat with a combat knife. In the throes of the frantic melee, burning projectiles rain down on the pair as they sprint from pillar to post, and suitably theatrical action film music rumbles along in the background. "No way! They have catapults?!" Ashley says, stating the absolute obvious. "I guess this is their idea of a warm welcome," Leon replies. It's twee, it's ham-fisted, and it's perfect – the Resident Evil 4 remake has reintroduced the cheesy B-movie charm missing from recent games, and it's glorious. And that's before our latest look at an overhauled Ramon Salazar, the giant claw-wielding Garrador, and a suplex technique that'd make Brock Lesnar proud. 17 exciting new details we've learned about Resident Evil 4 Remake WWW.ROCKPAPERSHOTGUN.COM We're three weeks away from the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake, and in preparation of its imminent launch Capcom… Quote We're three weeks away from the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake, and in preparation of its imminent launch Capcom chucked over a fresh batch of in-game footage for us to talk about. The 17 minute long video showcased various sections from the game, including a late-game boss fight and a greatly expanded early area that sees Leon exploring a series of creepy caves. As Rock Paper Shotgun's Resident Resident Evil Liker, I took it upon myself to obsessively study each individual frame of this video file to uncover its hidden secrets. Surprising even myself, I was able to extract 17 new details about Leon's refreshed holiday to rural Spain. That's one new thing for each minute of the footage! That wasn't intentional! New Resident Evil 4 sneak peek shows the Garrador in action | Digital Trends WWW.DIGITALTRENDS.COM We saw 17 minutes of Resident Evil 4's upcoming remake in action and it's looking like the touch-up the original deserves. Quote Despite loving Capcom’s recent string of Resident Evil games, I’ve long been skeptical of the idea of a Resident Evil 4 remake. I’ve written about my hesitation previously, but my worry has always been that the current gameplay template seen in games like Resident Evil 2 and 7 support survival horror more than fast-paced action. My worry has always been that Resident Evil 4 needed its own careful treatment so as to avoid some of the issues that 2020’s Resident Evil 3 remake had when trying to recreate its intense chase sequences. After seeing 17 minutes of Resident Evil 4 gameplay, I’m eating those words. The upcoming remake certainly seems to be getting the job done ahead of its impending March 24 release. The footage I saw showcased several portions of the game, including some nighttime woods trekking, an intense battle on top of the classic caste, and a bit of a Garrador battle. Each portion showcased a different strength of the remake, highlighting its visual upgrades and smooth action when actually in the regular flow of battle. ‘Resident Evil 4’ PREVIEW – Impressions from Our Hands-Off Sneak Peek at the Upcoming Remake BLOODY-DISGUSTING.COM We’ve come a long way in the Resident Evil series. After begging for years for a remake of Resident Evil 2, we finally got one and it was such a Quote We’ve come a long way in the Resident Evil series. After begging for years for a remake of Resident Evil 2, we finally got one and it was such a resounding success that Capcom gave its sister game Resident Evil 3 the same treatment. Now comes a full remake of quite possibly the most seminal installment of the series: Resident Evil 4. A game that not only pushed the franchise in new directions but also influenced third-person action games for years to come. I’ll admit as a big fan of the original game myself, I was apprehensive to such a prospect. Recently I was allowed to have a hands-off demo of the game and can say I’m now convinced of the potential of this remake. My demonstration opened up with Leon exploring ultra-atmospheric caverns. These areas are a stark departure from the grays and open-endedness of the village and seem to indicate that Leon will have some claustrophobic encounters with the Ganado. In my demo Leon was forced into choke point with a mutating Ganado while another stayed back a distance and proceeded to throw sticks of dynamite at him. Thankfully Leon is well equipped this time around and is able to assign weapons to the d-pad for quick swapping. It looks gratifying to see him pop a few shots off with his iconic pistol and swap to an impactful shotgun without the need to open up his inventory. Leon’s melee skills are also improved from his GameCube incarnation as he’s able to run up to downed enemies and stab them quickly with his knife while on the ground. All things considered, Resident Evil 4 looks to refine the combat to levels unseen in the series. Resident Evil 4 remake makes Leon’s knife and attaché case a much bigger deal WWW.POLYGON.COM Leon’s luggage is getting perks Quote If there’s an unsung hero of the Resident Evil games, it’s the humble knife. When your ammo is running low, and the zombies are moving slow, slashing your enemies to pieces is extremely satisfying. The knife is getting its due in Resident Evil 4’s upcoming remake, where it is more crucial to survival horror gameplay than ever. Capcom released a new trailer for Resident Evil 4 last week, and a new 17-minute gameplay video to media this week, showing off what’s changed since the 2005 original. The videos show off how much more capable in combat Leon S. Kennedy is: He’s parrying flying hatchets out of the air with a knife, suplexing Ganados cultists, and roundhouse-kicking anything with a face — even stuff without a face! Leon’s knife appears to be indispensable in surviving encounters with Plagas, who could just straight-up bite your head off in the original Resident Evil 4, and for battling Jack Krauser, a knife enthusiast himself. Remaking ‘Resident Evil 4’ was a huge challenge. The team was ready. - The Washington Post WWW.WASHINGTONPOST.COM The fact is, the Resident Evil team has become very good at making Resident Evil games. Quote Some video game franchises older than 20 years struggle to stay relevant. But publisher and developer Capcom is likely to maintain its track record of creative and commercial success with its upcoming remake of one of the most important video games ever made: 2005′s “Resident Evil 4.” The fact is, the Resident Evil team has become very good at making Resident Evil games. Their confidence stems from Capcom’s decision to create the Reach for the Moon (or RE) engine, the company’s proprietary software framework for making games. “Resident Evil VII” in 2017 was the first Capcom game to use RE Engine. Since then, it’s powered every major Capcom game, including this summer’s highly anticipated “Street Fighter 6.” “Whenever the designers create something, we can immediately check everything in engine, see if everything looks nice,” said Yasuhiro Ampo, a longtime director of the Resident Evil series who is also directing the new remake. “The ease of access really aids development for the games.” Resident Evil 4 Remake: 11 Things We Learned From The New Gameplay - GameSpot WWW.GAMESPOT.COM Here’s everything we learned from our latest hands-off preview of Resident Evil 4 Remake Quote Resident Evil 4 Remake is only weeks away, but there are still so many questions to answer about Capcom’s ambitious remake. Thankfully, I got the chance to see about 20 minutes of gameplay which gave me a glimpse into the lake area, the castle, and the iconic Krauser knife fight. Here are 11 new things I learned about the game. Resident Evil 4 Remake Preview GAMERANT.COM A recent preview of Resident Evil 4's remake offers a deeper look at gameplay, major improvements and changes, boss fights, and more. Quote Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 2 really cemented Capcom's legacy in developing in-depth and ground-up remakes, and this factor alone makes many fans excited about the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4. As Capcom reveals more, that anticipation only intensifies, as proven by the Resident Evil 4 remake's State of Play 2023 trailer. Recently, Game Rant was able to preview 17-minutes of hands-off footage for Resident Evil 4, and while certain aspects of the remake—such as new Ashley gameplay, the parrying mechanic, and so on—were previously confirmed, there's nothing quite like seeing it in action. Indeed, Resident Evil 4 is one of the most popular entries in the entire franchise, and this remake seems bound to take it to the next level. Resident Evil 4 Remake Gameplay Footage Focused on Leon and Ashley WWW.SILICONERA.COM After getting a look at some new Resident Evil 4 remake gameplay footage, it's clearer how faithful Leon and Ashley's journey will be. Quote Capcom shared new Resident Evil 4 remake footage and, after getting a hands-off, early look at it, it seems to showcase how Leon S. Kennedy and Ashley Graham’s experiences will and won’t change in this new take on the game. Taken from various moments throughout the game, it shows Leon exploring near the lake in chapter 4, then venturing into Ramon Salazar’s castle and dealing with some familiar foes while accompanied by Ashley. While a lot of it features largely expected encounters and gameplay elements, there were also a few changes to see how Resident Evil 4 remake might adjust some encounters to flesh them out. The parts of the Resident Evil 4 remake I was able to witness showed Leon in chapter 4, exploring near a lake. His early encounters with the Ganado showed how they can get more hazardous as you deal damage, due to the parasite becoming exposed. Leon is, as always, able to attack with his gun or his knife to counter them. Aiming at different parts can result in more tactical approaches, due to possibly taking advantage of their weapons or catching them off guard. It all seemed quite familiar, though obviously more elaborate and detailed than in the original game. And, as always, you can modify your weapons to change their capabilities and assist in these encounters. Resident Evil 4 Preview – Fresh, Familiar And Wet PRESS-START.COM.AU Resident Evil 4 Preview – Fresh, Familiar And Wet Quote Walking away from this preview, I’m still intrigued by how Resident Evil 4 will turn out. Capcom has demonstrated a tremendous sense of self-awareness with every subsequent Resident Evil release, so they won’t explicitly cut anything out of the game, given the backlash Resident Evil 3 received. But there’s so much we haven’t seen that I’m excited but nervous to see. Some characters play a large part in the original game, but we’ve seen less than five seconds of them in trailers. Some enemy types, who don’t fit with this new style of Resident Evil, might also have been cut. It’s hard to believe that everything in Resident Evil 4 will carry over to the remake, but perhaps Capcom needs to be more cautious with what they show.
