Keyser_Soze
After a decade of dreaming, Remedy is finally ready to write Alan Wake 2 into reality | GamesRadar+ WWW.GAMESRADAR.COM Big in 2023: With the Remedy Connected Universe established, the studio is finally ready to drag Alan Wake out of the darkness and push him back out into the world Quote Remedy will unleash the tortured author back into Bright Falls in 2023. 'Tortured' being the operative word here, with Remedy signaling that Alan Wake 2 will be a true survival horror experience – rather than an action game with Twin Peaks and Stephen King-inspired horror elements, as was the original. What this means for Alan Wake – its off-kilter atmosphere and snappy combat, leveraging the forces of light against darkness with a backpack full of lithium batteries – remains to be seen, although game director Kyle Rowley is only too happy to tease the tonal shift. "I'd love to get into those kinds of details," laughs Rowley, who served as lead designer of Quantum Break, "but we are not quite ready to reveal too much about our approach to survival horror just yet. What I will say is that we very much want to put a stake in the ground and say we are creating Remedy’s take on the survival horror genre. Gameplay, narrative, atmosphere, music – it’s all singing from the same hymn sheet, and that was very important for us from the outset."
Bloodporne
I think Remedy have the coolest universe going on between Control, Control: AWE, Alan Wake, Max Payne (which is also vaguely hinted in Control) and this one. I really can't wait to see what they come up with next. I think they really hit their stride gameplay & level design wise with Control as well.

Commissar SFLUFAN
Alan Wake 2 now "playable from start to finish", says Remedy WWW.EUROGAMER.NET It only feels like yesterday we were all praying to the gods of impossible things that we might one day get a sequel to… Quote It only feels like yesterday we were all praying to the gods of impossible things that we might one day get a sequel to cult monologue-'em-up Alan Wake, but now, not only has one been announced, developer Remedy Entertainment has confirmed the game's reached a stage in development where it's "playable from start to finish". That's according to Remedy CEO Tero Virtala, who shared the news as part of the company's latest financial results report. "Alan Wake 2 is in full production," he wrote in his statement to investors. "The game will soon have all content in place, and it is playable from start to finish." That probably shouldn't be too much of a surprise, of course, given the studio had previously confirmed a 2023 release for its long-awaited sequel, but it's a milestone worth noting for Alan Wake fans, and Virtala adds Remedy will next "move onto polishing the experience." Quote As for Alan Wake Remastered, Remedy's 2021 spruce-up of the 2010 action-horror original, Virtala revealed the game is still yet to generate royalties. "However," he added, "we expect the sales to increase as the release of Alan Wake 2 becomes imminent and fans and new players want to experience the original story on new generation consoles."

Moa
That looks cool as shit. The slightly reduced price also makes me think that it'll be a tighter experience without a lot of AAA bloat put in to pad the runtime.

gamer.tv
I really enjoyed Alan Wake, I just hope this maintains the Stephen King tone, rather than going down the route of indie horror.
