5-10 FPS, at 4k, is impressive.  I bet the move from PCIE 3.0 to 4.0 is adding a little bit to that as well.

Also there is yet another factor to memory performance besides speed, latency, and channels:  Rank.  There's single rank, dual rank, and quad+ ranks.  You can achieve the fastest MHz for your RAM with single rank, but dual rank will typically offer a performance boost even at a slightly slower speed.  Quad+ rank is not recommended, for those looking for pure performance, as it puts too much stress on the memory controller therefore limiting the speed and latency you can achieve.

What's your experience with XMP not playing well with RAM (or vice versa as you'd like!)? Mine is being quite finnicky!

I've had good luck with my own personal RAM choices.  XMP typically works.

Have you updated the BIOS?  On these new platforms, BIOS updates can change RAM behavior.  You might even have to wait for them to sort it out.

Also I'm still waiting for more in-depth reviews/overclocking.  You might have to increase the voltage on the memory controller to run RAM beyond Intel's spec.

And I think most reviewers have had to run DDR5 in Gear 2 mode, so perhaps XMP is setting it to gear 1.

Unfortunately, all of this tech is so new that the factory installed BIOS is the most current version. So hopefully this will all sort itself, but for now I'll just have to play around with manual settings until I get it to run stable at 5200Mhz. I definitely think its the voltage, just need to figure out what it needs.

2 or 4 sticks of RAM?

Holy shit 5200mhz lol. Just saw you seem to be getting a good 5-10% improvement off the already high end, nice! Curious how well Cyberpunk averages with performance dlss and maxed including psycho rt now! Guess we will have to wait on AC Valhalla lol.

This inspires me to work on locking a higher clock speed than the 4.8 on my 10850, I think I need to redo the thermal paste, it gets hotter than it should if I try for the fan I have.

Well the deal with DDR5 is much high speeds but also double the latency vs performance DDR4 so almost a draw at present. Single core performance though, hot damn! It makes a difference! It helps my GPU just crawl out of the UBIsoft canyon of performance loss that is 4K! :sun:
