gamer.tv
Sufficiently long enough for me to ignore the re-release of the first two games and then buy it when I'm drunk/hungover.

SaysWho?
https://www.vg247.com/2019/03/12/shenmue-3-preview-gameplay/ Quote One thing that’s changed, Suzuki says, is that shops will now be more plentiful in Shenmue 3 and stock a far wider range of items. He explained that in past games there were fewer stores but you could have longer, in-depth conversations with their owners. In this game, owners aren’t as fleshed out but the shops themselves are. Quote I really like this aspect of Shenmue 3’s design. It does appear that Suzuki is well aware that reaching the heady, revolutionary heights of the original Shenmue is an impossible task on the budget he now has. As such this is a strange little game. In some ways it feels as though it fell out of the early 2000s in a time capsule: its design is a clear iteration and continuation of what came before in the series, not a reinvention as some might have expected after so long. Quote The video game industry is reaching that sort of age where nostalgic revivals are becoming ever-more common. Usually this takes the form of slick, modestly-budgeted titles in the style of classic games, like a Sonic Mania or Mega Man 11. Other times it takes the form of a big-budget remake, modern in every sense while evoking the fondly-remembered classic – Resident Evil 2 or Final Fantasy 7 (if it ever comes out). Shenmue 3 appears to occupy an as-yet mostly untouched space: a halfway house between the two. It’s far more ambitious than other retro revival projects of this type, devoted to accuracy to the original era – and that excitingly means it really does feel like a late nineties/early noughties Sega title – warts and all. That won’t be for everyone, but in terms of accomplishing its stated mission, Shenmue 3 looks to be on track.

The environments look great, but the character models look kinda shitty and all of the animations look like stock walk cycles and key-framed motion (as opposed to motion capture). That's not necessarily a bad thing, but in this day and age we're all used to having mo-capped animations, so manual animation tends to look janky and wooden. Which is why they all move like puppets. In short, it looks like what it is, a dude from 2002 trying to make a game in 2019 the way he did in 2002.
Keyser_Soze
Looks like they will be sending out a survey tomorrow for those who want a refund for the EGS thing Quote Survey Outline From September 20th (JST), emails will start going out from Fangamer to all backers notifying you of your currently selected game version. Please check your mail to confirm your version. Backers who wish to make a change may then follow the link to your survey in the mail to take the necessary action. Survey Period The survey period will begin when the emails from Fangamer go out on September 20th and will end on 11:59 PM October 3rd, 2019 (JST). Changes to rewards will not be available after the above date, so please respond within the survey period. Address changes may be made up until shipping begins. PC Option Revision Please note the following revision concerning PC option availability. In the previous Update On PC Version Rewards, the following option for the PC (Epic Games Store) version was announced: "If selecting either the PC Physical or PC Digital version, an option to also receive a Steam key one year later will be available." As negotiations with Valve are ongoing, we are not able to make a firm commitment at this point concerning the availability of the Steam keys. Requests for Steam keys will be accepted through the survey, however, there is the possibility that Steam keys will ultimately not be distributed depending on negotiations with Valve. An announcement will be posted in the updates with the outcome of the negotiations. We apologize for this revision to the previously stated PC option. Refund Eligibility and Details Refund Eligibility Backers who had already selected a PC version of the game at the time of survey resend will be eligible for a refund. Please note that backers who selected a PS4 version will not be eligible.
