crispy4000
I won't be getting a next-gen console for some time, partly for financial reasons. (ie: housing market insanity) It's nice to see so many so many games getting 60fps patches, but the list of PS4 games I'm willing to play on the Pro is dwindling. Anyone else feeling this? Since the PS5 launched, I've decided to hold off on: - (finishing) God of War - Horizon - The Last Guardian (got the disc version, sukas) - Death Stranding - Ghosts of Tsushima Leaving me with: - (finishing) Uncharted 4 - Uncharted: Lost Legacy - Tearaway Unfolded - Concrete Genie - Last of Us Remastered (... wait for the remake?) Not willing to pick up cross-gen games either at the moment. Perhaps I should have jumped on more Sony AAA games earlier... but I think I'll be happy I waited. Anyone else shelving games with next-gen patches for the time being?
Dodger
I'm doing the opposite and shelving games that don't have a next gen patch yet
XxEvil AshxX
Not necessarily putting off PS4 games I own, but I'm definitely not buying any more PS4 games coming out in the future. Horizon Forbidden West might have a PS4 version but I won't even bother until I can get a PS5 at some point. Same with Miles Morales and anything else coming out cross-gen. BloodyHell
60fps is why i jumped into next gen right away.
Dre801
Kinda doing the same. I'd love to get a PS5, but it'll be quite a while before that's possible; don't want one badly enough to pay scalper markup. I did snag a Series S at retail yesterday from Amazon; it'll be my bedroom/Game Pass system; still hope to get an X for the living room. SaysWho?
Side note: Concrete Genie is a great "chill" game. Sometimes if I had a high stress day at work, playing a game like Bloodborne out of work doesn't work and I have to wait. Concrete Genie is an easy one to play whenever.
crispy4000
I got it with a gift PS+ subscription, so I’ll definitely be getting around to it this year.
Dre801
I just watched NX Gamer's analysis of the 60Fps patch for HZD. It's a locked 60Fps all the way. No dropped frames. This patch appears to be the best way to experience the game now.

crispy4000
Does the PC version still have issues?

Dissapearing foliage on AMD cards, microstutters with UI updates, etc. I'd probably prefer playing it on PS5.

Yep, I had a lot of fun with it. Its a short and sweet game, with an interesting story. Definitely worth playing. And it shouldn't take more than a day or two, unless you're a completionist.

Bloodporne
Not a patch I think (?) but I randomly popped Dark Souls III in last night and it runs at 60 fps on PS5. It looks really good. I'll probably start a new playthrough now just because of that.

Y there gotta be 500 games in my backlog besides that?
imthesoldier
I don't plan on getting a PS5 anytime soon, so I'm fine playing games at 1080p30 if that's what they're running at. If nothing else, it gives me something to look forward to similar to when I first play some PC title that stresses my system where I can't run it at max settings, only to try it again years later after a new rig, and bake in all of the glory that is max settings. That's what I feel for the PS4/Xbone, and PS5/SeSX situation. I don't even own a 4K TV yet, so I'm not going to see a league of difference anyway. I still want to check out MGSV, Dad of War, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, etc, but I'll likely do that all on my PS4. I can also wait for the eventual PS5 Slim model.
