XxEvil AshxX
I'll give Test Drive Unlimited some credit; They were Forza Horizon before Forza Horizon. The problem was the game was buggy as shit and it ran like ass on consoles. Then Test Drive Unlimited 2 came out and it too was buggy as shit and ran better, but still kinda like ass on consoles. I liked the idea of TU and TU2, but then Forza Horizon took their formula and have knocked out four bangers in the time since TDU2 and will have a fifth by the time TDU3 comes out next year. They got a big act to follow and their gonna have to really bring it cuz FH done spoiled me. Also this is gonna be like sloppy seconds for all those people that wanted FH5 to be in Japan. One good thing is that i get to play this on PS5 and I'm not sure when I'll be able to get XSX to play FH5.
AbsolutSurgen
NFS: Most Wanted really was the first good open world racing game, IMHO. They're going to have to do a lot to get me off FH5.

You can open up a web browser on your PS5 (if there is one) go to https://www.xbox.com/play and then play FH5 on your PS5. Easy!

Loved it back in the day, but I feel I'd be more willing to go back to MW 2012. Personally, I hated the "storyline" elements of 2005 Most Wanted, and much preferred the "do-as-you-wish" approach to Most Wanted, plus also discovering cars as you saw fit. It blended a lot of what I liked with Burnout Paradise, and modified it for NFS. This might be a bit of a hot-take, but NFS: MW 2012 is better overall than MW 2005. Dodger
Loved the first game but the Horizon series I think has overtaken the open world arcade racer for me.
stepee
Playground is just too good, I don’t think you can beat them at this until they get bored or something.

I remember beating the single player portion of that game but don't recall what the online was like.

Fom Wikipedia: Multiplayer in Most Wanted consists of online modes, which were available for the Xbox 360, Xbox, PC and PlayStation Portable editions of the game. Up to 4 players can participate in an online race and can race in 4 game modes including circuit, sprint, lap knockout and speed trap. Maybe you're confusing it with TDU or Most Wanted 2012

I like what they were going for. Being able to drive around Hawaii (i think?) at scale was a cool idea. That said, it was still buggy and had a shoddy framerate on Xbox 360. TDU2 was better, and i liked the casino, but the network infrastructure just wasnt there yet for what they wanted to do, (and kinda like what FH is doing now.) I remember my friends and i wanting to play it, but Atari just never could manage to fix the broken net code.

Keyser_Soze
Game Information Game Title: Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Platforms: PC (Sep 13, 2024) Trailer: Publisher: Nacon Review Aggregator: OpenCritic - 69 average - 0% recommended Critic Reviews Spoiler GameGrin - Mike Crewe - 7 / 10 A relatively triumphant return for the long-dormant franchise, Solar Crown still has a ways to go before it can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with its peers, but for now it's off to a good start. GamingBolt - Shubhankar Parijat - 7 / 10 Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown doesn't scale the heights of other virtual tourism open world racers in recent years, but it's an enjoyable driving game in its own right, even with its rough edges. God is a Geek - Chris White - 7.5 / 10 Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown gives you plenty to do, with a fun world to explore and challenges to take part in, regardless of ability. Push Square - Issy van der Velde - 6 / 10 Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown is an absolutely phenomenal driving experience when it works. Each car is unique and you spend so much time with them that you form a real bond with your machines. Races are hard-fought and the neon streets of Hong Kong Island fun enough to explore in free roam. Unfortunately, a variety of technical issues hamper the experience, and the lifestyle elements and overall atmosphere of Hong Kong Island leave much to be desired. This is an ongoing, live service game with many seasons planned, so hopefully a lot of these issues can be ironed out. Until then, though, it's still a pleasure to drive around in your favourite car, just soaking up the road. ZdobywcyGier.eu - Paweł Bortkiewicz - Polish - 5 / 10 Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is unfortunately not a successful return to the Test Drive series. Poor technical condition, huge grind and lack of innovation are the main elements of the “ big” return of this series. The only thing that saves Solar Crown from total failure is the pleasant driving model and the very well replicated map of Hong Kong. However, I am feeling hopeful that KT Racing will take matters into their own hands and start fixing the game as soon as possible, because to experience such problems with the Day One patch is no excuse.
