It would take someone truly unwilling to give Xbox a shot to come out of watching the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase and not seriously think about […] I don’t think Sony even needed to be brought up in this (especially not after their cross-gen about face), but they’re spot on about it otherwise IMO. I’d add Microsoft had (/still has) a big opportunity to give us that next-gen wow factor with the games they have slated. Forizon Horizon 5 got there, but racing is where they’ve consistently delivered. But just imagine if Fable, Hellblade, Perfect Dark, Elder Scrolls next (or Halo Infinite…) hit that high note in the same conference as well. There’s an alternative universe where MS could have knocked this out of the park. It would have made up for the absentee start to the gen from their own studios. I guess the positive here is that some of these previously announced games could be late enough to miss the cross-gen period entirely. There’s still so much coming. The beauty of Games Pass is all the indies used too pad things out are gravy to anyone already paying the subscription. I’m stoked so many more people will be on the Psyconauts train this time around. Would have liked to see some Gunk gameplay. That’s still slated for this year. Bethesda definitely elevated it in terms of adding games to the slate people can look forward to. I’d say both Starfield and Redfall were the highlights, even if I have no clue what either will actually play like based on the trailers. I do wish MS would show at least a slice of gameplay with their biggest E3 reveals, but I can understand why they’d want to play it safe with games a ways out, especially after Halo’s mixed reception last year.
