CastletonSnob
Posting this topic here, because I heard I'd get better responses. I recently bought a new computer. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-TC-895-UA92-i5-10400-Processor-802-11ax/dp/B088X2YR3X I found out that this computer has a proprietary PSU, which can't be replaced easily. Should I be worried about the power supply?
Fizzzzle
Not if you plan on using it as intended. It sounds like it's some non-standard non-ATX power supply that can't be replaced and it's only 300W. So if you plan on upgrading the PC, that could be a problem. But if you don't plan on doing that, I can't imagine it would be an issue. Most of the bad reviews were like "I can't put a 3080 in this thing because of the power supply!" edit: I should clarify that if you want to be crafty and drill some holes in that bitch, it looks like you could fit a proper power supply in there if you wanted to. I might be wrong, I don't know the measurements, but I don't see why not. But at any rate, if you didn't plan on upgrading the PC, you should be fine. Nokra
@CastletonSnob Just a quick post to say I agree with Fizzzzle's assessment. The manual doesn't seem to provide much information about the components, but based on a couple reviews from Amazon that include pictures, it looks like the power supply is not a standard ATX power supply so yeah, it could be quite challenging to replace. However, if it's going to die it will probably be sooner rather than later and the 1 year warranty will cover it.
CastletonSnob
It's been almost a month since I made this thread, and the power supply hasn't died. It should be fine?
