Guest
LWOP is bad enough for adults, it's unforgivable that the government would lock even a murderous child up forever without any chance of release.
finaljedi
Mandatory minimum sentence of life without parole for a juvenile, not great. I've always hated mandatory minimums in general, but life without parole for a minor as a mandatory minimum is especially no good

Spawn_of_Apathy
What was the original crime and conviction? Not that it justifies LWOP for a minor, but I’d like to know what Mississippi thought was so heinous.

Guest
Payday lending should be illegal, the FTC should be able to seek refunds, and congress should fix both problems.

Have you read ‘The Unbanking of America’? If not, I would encourage you to give it a read...I used to think payday lending should be illegal as well, however it’s a nuanced issue once you read about what drives people to use it. One definite takeaway though is that Congress absolutely needs to pass a bill on postal banking ASAP.

It just makes things worse.

mclumber1
"May issue" is a crock of shit and you all know it. If the only way to actually get a license to carry is if you are rich or famous, that's fucked up. I hope SCOTUS strikes down "may issue" licenses. mclumber1
The restrictions that Scalia mentions can be interpreted as requiring training, etc. in order to get a license to carry. That isn't changing the court's last decision - it's making it more clear how much the government can restrict civil liberties.
