SaysWho?
By platform: Past 12 months: I wonder if they had any idea Ghost of Tsushima would have the legs it does, always popping up on Playstation best-sellers. Also did a wee bit of digging, and GTAV stopped charting when they stopped reporting digital numbers.

They are comparing the first 5 months of each platform, PS5 sold most over that frame.

The demand must be fucking insane considering that, as far as I can tell, it's not appreciably easier to nab a PS5 now than it was on launch day. When you’re getting beat month after month is sales, that’s like bragging that during your hot lap you were the fastest 0-60, even if your overall speed was far below somebody else who just continues to out pace you lap after lap after lap. Sales of video game hardware tend to grow over time as more content becomes available, more sales happen, etc. Comparing consoles at equivalent points in their release cycles is a totally normal way to make sales comparisons. Exactly, it's the way it's always been, and it's NPD making the comparison, not Sony. Console sales grow year after year and then peak, not shrink right after they release. They sell their most after the early adopters. The Switch should be selling more right now; it's going on year 4 now. But PS5 will probably sell more units in general in 2022/2023.
