CitizenVectron
Very large Ukrainian attack on Sevastopol right now. 25 to 30 Ukrainian missiles "shot down" (i.e. hit their targets). Some videos of massive explosions at the Russian base. Edit: Looks like Ukraine hit the "Information and Computing Center of the Black Sea Fleet" with at least 3 Storm Shadows. 1
CitizenVectron
14 strategic bombers in the air right now. This will be a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine tonight.
CitizenVectron
Sounds like Ukraine's strike on Sevastopol may have damaged or destroyed two more large Russian landing ships, possibly three.
CitizenVectron
UAF is claiming to have hit another landing ship (in dock) with a Neptune missile. For a ground invasion of a country with basically no navy, Russia's fleet losses are devastating. There is a real chance they could lose most of the Black Sea fleet by the time this war is over. mclumber1
Russia would have to build more Navy ships in their black sea bases, because Turkey won't allow them to bring in warships from their other bases outside of the black sea, from what I understand. CitizenVectron
How is Ukraine detecting low-flying (but slow) drones before they hit civilian targets? They have strapped 8,000+ cellphones connected to mics on poles around the country, allowing for an audio warning system that can track heading and speed. They have detected 84 suicide drones this way, and have shot down 80 of them using AA guns (200 mobile AA teams along the front). 1

CitizenVectron
Russia is performing zerg rushes near Vuhledar, throwing columns of APCs and light tanks at the lines. elbobo
How is ANYONE keeping aircraft outdoors at this point. A reinforced hanger is vastly cheaper than a modern fighter. Honestly if the US airforce isn't taking notes even for lower 48 based aircraft they are being straight up negligent.
CitizenVectron
Russia sources are claiming to have shot down between 40-60 Ukrainian drones. As stated in the past, they will often claim things were "shot down" when it really means they hit something. They also like to exaggerate, turning 5 drones into 50. Honestly if the US airforce isn't taking notes even for lower 48 based aircraft they are being straight up negligent. Ukraine saying 6 aircraft destroyed, 8 damaged. Very successful. Also strikes on two other bases, including Engels (where strategic bombers are located), but no word yet on hits. Apparently the Ukrainian drones (at least some) had loudspeakers equipped, and were playing a German drinking song on approach (about being drunk for seven days). CitizenVectron
Videos of successful strikes at at least two airbase, and possibly a third. Five to six explosions all back to back. Seems that Ukraine threw an overwhelming number of drones, appearing to hit air defense first. If they managed to hit a number of strategic bombers at Engels...that could be huge. It's those bombers launching cruise missiles. Ukraine also unveiled its new home-made drone this week, which can travel 1000+ miles with a 300kg warhead. Likely also uses terrain navigation instead of gps so that it can't be jammed. It's actually crazy how poor the Russian air defense is. CitizenVectron
Will be interesting to see how the American military industrial complex handles this, if it even can: wsj.com WWW.WSJ.COM Basically, American drones suck because they are too expensive, unreliable, and aren't durable in the field. Ukraine has had to rely on mass-market homemade (or commercial) drones that can defeat Russian jamming and other countermeasures. The US MIC is amazing at producing the highest-tech stuff...but if war is switching to mass drone attacks, can it produce something that is very cheap, made on a huge scale, and also reliable and durable? CitizenVectron
Massive Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine last night, they (successfully) targeted power infrastructure. The US needs to let Ukraine use western weapons against targets in Russia NOW. Russia is using North Korean and Chinese supplies in Ukraine, and unless Ukraine is allowed to target launchers and airbases in Russia with ATACMS and other tools, they will never be able to stop the launch of all these drones and missiles.
