NYPOST.COM A Russian man was not lovin’ it that McDonald’s was about to shutter it stores in the country amid the invasion of Ukraine. You lose enough in life and it can make you do desperate things. Maybe this will be the fellow that can get to Putin and 'talk some sense into him'. If anything, this shot right here should illustrate to the Russians that Mcdonalds closing in their country is actually an act of kindness. Guest
It’s never a bad thing to choose the right thing even if you previously chose the wrong thing. Moral authority is a silly concept which serves only to alienate people who are choosing the right thing now. And when we are speaking of geopolitical issues, no country can lay claim to moral authority. It’s all varying shades of past and present wrongs. Commissar SFLUFAN
In videogame-related news: Stalker 2 renamed Heart of Chornobyl to reflect Ukrainian spelling | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Due to the two countries' histories certain elements of language are politically charged. Quote Russian forces have invaded Ukraine and the war has now been ongoing for 19 days. Stalker developer GSC Game World is based in the Ukrainian capital city Kyiv, which is currently under attack, and since the beginning of the war has condemned the 'inhuman cruelty' of the invasion and paused development on Stalker 2. Today the Steam entry for Stalker 2 was updated, and has changed the sequel's subtitle to Heart of Chornobyl. This change has affected most of its Steam entries and description, though the original 'Heart of Chernobyl' spelling can still be seen on promotional art and some listings. There's no statement about the change, but the reason behind it is almost certainly that Chornobyl is the Ukrainian spelling for the region, whereas Chernobyl is the Russian spelling.
CayceG
I'm into it. However, I prefer to refer to the nuclear plant disaster using the Russian spelling of "Chernobyl" because it is a uniquely Soviet (Russian colonial) disaster from the design of the RBMK to its construction all the way to the reasoning behind the test and the work culture that led to the failure and the pan-Soviet cleanup effort. The town and current NPP site I'm totally cool calling Chornobyl.

mclumber1
I'm sure China is expecting payments in dollars or some other currency that is actually worth something. Maybe China plans to just bleed Russia of it's remaining hard foreign currency before it's used for other purposes. Smaht
