Jason
And there it is, the pretext for invading. Putin baselessly claims 'genocide' is happening in areas of Ukraine controlled by Kremlin-backed rebels WWW.BUSINESSINSIDER.COM Putin's comments came as Russia said that it was pulling back some of its troops from Ukraine's border — a claim met with skepticism by the West. CitizenVectron
Looks like it was a medical evac of an American, it landed on a hospital in Poland. American diplomats moved from Kyiv to Lviv, so maybe one of them.

Also of course doesn't represent underlying movements, just elected, national parliaments. But he's talking about "far-right," and that seems off for many of those countries. You and I both surf the Reset thread where this tweet got a lot of eyes, and we had several users from those countries dispute those numbers. It just seems like criteria that's hard to verify. Plus, we have a country that's using its military to potentially invade a country and is run by a "president" who tries to act more like a "strongman" who's elected in elections that seem suspect for a whole host of reasons (though I've long since come to a scarier conclusion that despite that, Russians actually like him). It seems like the person who tweeted that has a bit of an agenda to compare that to Switzerland's political climate, though I respect his point that far-right groups exist in all countries. CayceG
Russia did this whole "We're pulling back troops but in actuality we're repositioning them" thing in 2008 about a week before they invaded Georgia.

mclumber1
Yeah the idea that the US would pull US troops from their Eastern European NATO allies is pretty insane.
CayceG
These demands are all non-starters and the Russians know it. I would guess these demands (which are more hardline than the ones a couple weeks ago!) are intended to be such to give Russia an out because "the West refuses to negotiate."
