CitizenVectron
Most people in the west have a coddled image of Russia since 1991. It's seen as a powerful but not-that-powerful nation who was easily defeated by American willpower, and relegated to being something far, far less bad than Germany of the 1940s. In reality, of course, Russia/USSR did unspeakable things across much of the 20th century, and is still capable of them today. The biggest mistake the US ever made was not trying to fully integrate Russia into Europe after the fall of the Soviet Union.

CitizenVectron
I think someone else may have said something similar here earlier, but much of the western world is going to wake up today and go "wow I can't believe this is happening in 2022"...but mainly because it's white people vs white people.

Spoiler Not to turn this into an American politics thread but this just shows the levels of incompetence of Democratic leadership. This is where they should be parroting Republicans "wow this is not the time to be criticizing *OUR* president!" "Are you un American!?" Etc and push some patriotism to force some bills through. But instead crickets. They're probably enjoying the lack of attention and taking some time off.

Yes but some very small amount of the people are Ukraine are pro-invasion. That's who the GOP stands with. Also, we're going to see sooooo many clips of Romney in 2012 saying that Russia is a threat (and he was right!) to own the libs...while at the same time people make excuses for Putin. It's going to be doublespeak around the clock.

Its fun when humanity absolutely refuses to learn from its mistakes of past. Who would have thought villainizing a country ala Germany after WW1 would go so wrong again. CitizenVectron
Who is this guy?
