CastlevaniaNut18
I also think I’m gonna start Pride and Prejudice. I’ve never read Jane Austen and I wanna watch the 2005 movie. But I feel I should give the book a go first. All my Goodreads friends rated it highly, so I hope I can get into it.

gamer.tv
Currently reading the Orchard Keeper by Cormac McCarthy. Like all his books, very good, vaguely feels like I’m on drugs reading it.
CastlevaniaNut18
Finished No Exit in a day. Started Black Cross by Greg Iles this morning. Still reading The Ascent on Kindle.
gamer.tv
I finished and then read The Girl of Ink and Stars. Decent young adult fiction is sometimes a brilliant way to spend a few days.
CastlevaniaNut18
Current reads: Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson, The Five: The Lives of Jack the Ripper's Women by Hallie Rubenhold(nonfiction), and Warrior and Protector by Peter Gibbons(Kindle). Also read Black Cross by Greg Iles this week. I'm at 75 books done on the year.

Brian
Finished The Ferryman by Justin Cronin. Wasn’t a big fan of the Passage Trilogy but there were elements I liked. I glad I gave this book a shot. Really liked it.

Chris-
I have a big stack of stuff to read while I recover from surgery: Money: The True Story of a Made-Up Thing by Jacob Goldstein Supermarket by Bobby Hall The Municipalists by Seth Fried Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon (re-read; I recently re-read The Crying of Lot 49 and was stunned by how much more I got out of it, so I want to re-read GR to see if the same pattern holds)
CastlevaniaNut18
Alrighty, current reads are now: Home Front by Kristin Hannah(in the mood for something sappy and dramatic), and for nonfiction, I started To Hell and Back: The Last Train from Hiroshima by Charles Pellegrino. I started The Bad Lands, another Western by Oakley Hall, who wrote the incredible Warlock. I forgot to update but I finished The Bad Lands a few days ago. Unforgettable characters and another story of how poisonous vigilante justice can be. I’d love to read more by the author, but I think only the two are available on Kindle. I started The Conformist, by Alberto Moravia.
CastlevaniaNut18
Woo, finished home Front last night, completing my goal of 80 books for the year. Didn't expect to read this much, especially gaming a lot of more than the last couple years. But my new job allows for a fair bit of reading time, so that probably accounts for it. Started Black River by Matthew Spencer on my Kindle.

I've always wondered: are you able to read so much at work because you're working the night shift mostly and the patients are generally sleeping? Patients are in bed by 10, usually earlier. I give them meds between 8-9 and there’s nothing til we get them up between 530-6. So really all I have to do during those middle hours is round hourly. Unless we’re getting hit with admits, it isn’t very busy. Most people just do stuff on their phones, I read. And staffing is way better. We always have patient care techs and they’re really good. So I’m not running my ass off all night like I was before. Day shift psych is busier with discharges and group therapy and meals and all that. But I hear it’s still not that bad for the most part.

I’m pretty excited for this one, but it releases while we’re in Japan, so I’ll have to wait a couple weeks. I’ve read The Firm probably 10 times in my life, but it’s been a while. I’ll likely do a reread soon to freshen my memory.

EternallDarkness
read Legends & Lattes the other day, surprised a book about an orc opening a coffee shop would be so entertaining
CastlevaniaNut18
I was reading To Hell and Back at work last night and I just had to put it down after a while. Graphic descriptions don't usually get to me, but reading so much suffering of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki victims was just too much. I'll definitely finish it and it's well written, but sometimes you can only take so much at once.
EternallDarkness
Currently reading Fever House. It comes out in a couple of weeks and holy crap am I enjoying it. Only a third of the way in but it's crazy. The story seems to center around the severed hand of the devil and the crazed effects it has on the people that come into contact with it. CastlevaniaNut18
City of Dreams wasn’t quite as good as City on Fire, but it was still entertaining. I wanted to slap Danny for being so stupid. Really looking forward to City in Ruins next year. Now reading The Only One Left by Riley Sager.

CastlevaniaNut18
I've kinda been bouncing around with books lately. Still need to finish Black River on Kindle, almost done with To Hell and Back, but then I started Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier. It's kinda slow, so I ended up starting Eye of the Needle by Ken Follett. Yeah, need to finish up a couple books soon, I think.

I guess there’s a tv series now based on this series, is what my dad said.
