Maybe, just maybe, you are simply in a competitive district that has a significant portion of both the Richmond suburbs AND significant portion of the hinterlands

I don't necessarily disagree with the socialism bit, But the prescription isn't necessarily "don't say it, don't even do something that smells like a socialist policy, just be a kindler gentler republican"

And what the fuck does get back to basics mean

She's fucking terrible.

Did you really believe this would push dems left? In the future, we have the “GOP” anc the “conservatives called liberals”. Those are now the parties.

Democrats spent big to take control of state legislatures but lost their key targets. Now they’ll be on the sidelines as new maps are drawn.

The brutal truth. I remember reading a similar article about Democrats building up from scratch in 2010. I guess they made some progress but it was a low bar to clear.

Is Georgia a lost cause?

OK - I have more context:

November 12 is the cutoff receipt date for mail in ballots, provisional ballots, and ballots that need cured. Expect the rate to trickle to practically nothing well before the 12th. Should be unofficially clear on who won well before that.

No wonder she's obsessed with the idea of crushing socialism!

One of the most universal problems with what Trump has done to our politics is that he has completely wiped out any distinction between fake = untrue thing and fake = true thing I don't like.

This mindset has infected every aspect of the political debate and when taken to it's logical conclusion is indistinguishable from the Orwellian idea that the party is not just lying about things. At a certain point, with enough power and manipulation the lie becomes the truth.

Theres a lot of bad takes going on, but the reality of it is we saw historic turnout for a dem candidate, AND the GOP candidate, dems still held the house gained in the senate, and are the verge of the executive, while flipping back WI/MI/PA and maybe AZ/GA, this miss with Hispanics in FL and TX is the only really bad spot.

Welcome to the left, where if we got the President, the Senate and the House, we'd still spend the next 4-8 years whipping ourselves over not getting a single black guy in Detroit.

John James is apparently taking the Trump strategy to losing an election.

Michigan U.S. Senate candidate John James, who is currently trailing Democratic Senator Gary Peters in the 2020 election, is calling for an investigation into votes.
