  1. I ended up getting a Wusthof 6" chef's knife. Amazon had it on sale for $98. It just arrived. Obviously haven't used it yet, but it's quite sharp and I like the way it feels in my hand.
  2. I haven't played a ton this year, but God of War Ragnarok and Kirby are my favorites. Shredder's Revenge was also really great. Still need to finished Dying Light 2, but it's good fun.
  3. I’ll give my thoughts when done. I’ve read Underground Railroad and The Nickel Boys from him and both were good, but I really had to focus on my reading with them.
  4. Cell was...weird. Defintely in the bottom half of my SK rankings. Started out strong, but then got a little weird for me. Not a bad book, just not my favorite from my favorite author. I gave it 3.5/5. Now onto Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead. I also started Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist on my Kindle. Haven't started a new nonfiction yet, but I'm leaning toward We Were Soldiers Once...and Young by Hal Moore. Read it in high school, but I remember little.
  5. I mean, I’ve never seen it used to stuff a turkey around here, so stuffing makes less sense to me.
  6. Are stuffing and dressing the same thing? It's called dressing here and I've never really liked it.
  7. Yeah, I'm pretty sure taking issue with incels is the correct thing to do.
  8. No leftovers, I grilled ribeyes last night with some homemade garlic mashed potatoes. Delicious.
  9. I mean, I’ve wanted to do some pillow therapy on some patients, but that’s a bit much.
  10. Final Fantasy VI The Witcher 3 Silent Hill 2 Chrono Trigger The Last of Us The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Batman: Arkham Asylum God of War 2018 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Super Mario World After the first three, the order isn't really set in stone. But that's a pretty general list of my all time favorites off the top of my head.
  11. I think I'm around 10 hours in and I made it to Alfheim last night. I'm taking my sweet time. Sad that I can't play for a couple days due to work.
  12. I don't get excited about holiday food. I'm working Wed/Thurs and I'm not really upset. Husband is going to visit his family, but he's honestly dreading it. Their Thanksgivings are always turkey and a bunch of casseroles(which neither of us like). He'll be feasting on turkey and rolls. Plus, his family has really dwindled. Grandmother in the nursing home, severely depressed, alcoholic brother, his mom is busy taking care of his stepdad, who is laid up with a bad back, hip, and shoulder, his aunt died last year, etc. Oh yeah, there's also no internet down there. He's ready to get it done and rush back. I bought a big ribeye loin on sale at my brother's store last week and we'll be feasting on grilled steak and homemade mashed potatoes this weekend.
  13. $200 for two people? I think the most we’ve ever spent just for the two of us to eat was maybe $180 and that was after the tip. That was in Portland, ME last year. We usually eat for under $100 around home and I don’t normally consider myself a cheap eater.
  14. One of them just took a soft retirement from Airbnb at age 36. A decade in Silicon Valley made him rich. The other two just live it when they aren’t working.
  15. I’m almost certain one is a virgin, one had a girlfriend years ago and nothing since, and I’m really not sure about the other, but I’m pretty sure ain’t nothing happening for him in the last several years. They’re all well into their 30s.
  16. I've never seen something so obsessive. Husband likes FF XIV and he's played it extensively with his buddies, but not the this extent. He's played all the main content, he'll sub when new content releases or whatever, but like a normal person, he does get tired after a while and moves on to something else. His friends(3 of them) who we've known and had gaming getogthers for years, play the game constantly, though. They have raid groups set up probably on average of 4 nights a week, for 5-6 hours and are usually more active on weekends. He's hardly been able to get them online to play anything else for months. Anyway, we haven't had a gaming weekend with them in a long while and it seemed like he was finally gonna get one set up the first weekend of Dec. Two of them live about 30 minutes from us, the other lives 3.5 hours away. One of their raid members was out of town that weekend or something, so they were gonna come over. Well, now they've apparently got a substitute raider, so those weekend plans are in jeopardy. It's gotten to the point where the husband resents FF XIV. He can't socialize with his long term friends because they treat it like a job they can't miss a day of. I think it's the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. I can't wrap my head around it. Are MMO people usually THIS bad? I've never gotten into that genre and I really don't want to after all this.
  17. As much as my parents love guns, thankfully, we never did any of this nonsense. Dad just took me squirrel hunting with a .22 when I was 6 or 7. This shit is just demented.
  18. One By One by Ruth Ware Like Lions by Brian Panowich Still working on Jamie Raskin’s book, but there’s only so much Jan 6 stuff I can take in one sitting. I’m over halfway done, though. Just been busy lately, plus gaming more.
