  1. Started The Life We Bury by Allen Eskens. I think this is gonna be a good one.
  2. Started this last night. It feels nice getting back into this series after basically not playing the prior two games(which I still intend to do). Playing on casual. I served my time with beating all the earlier games that didn’t give you the option. I hated the permadeath aspect.
  3. We have 58 games for ours, half those Japanese releases. There’s a lot of great stuff for it, but almost none of it is cheap. Have both US models and the one in use is a grey Japan model that’s ODE. I don’t have an issue with it and when he bought that system, it specifically didn’t have a working disc drive.
  4. First season done. I love these characters. I’m rooting for Jax and Tara, but I’m sure they’re gonna end up breaking my heart. Felt pretty crushed about Opie and Donna. Agent Stahl is a mean cunt. Katy Segal is a joy to watch being a devious bitch. Onward to season 2!
  5. I’m really in a cooking mood. I just bought a new cast iron skillet, a Lodge brand. I had one, it belonged to my great-grandmother, who was born in 1898, so it’s old as hell. Also looking into trying this Iberico pork. Looks great and I wanna see if it’s worth the hype, since I’ve never been a giant pork eater.
  6. Picked up my Divine Edition. Really want to play some FE now, question is, do I play this one or Three Houses since I never played it more than a couple hours?
  7. Picked up my Fire Emblem Engage Divine Edition today.
  8. I've really gotta catch up on my Fire Emblem. I've beaten them all until they released Echoes on 3DS and I've not finished one since. As much as I loved the games, the relationship stuff was lame. I'm glad they're stepping back from that and focusing more on gameplay. I did preorder this one for the special edition, since I've managed to get every SE they've made so far.
  9. Yeah, the casting is really good. I admit, Pascal and Ramsey weren’t who I’d first think of for Joel and Ellie, but after watching the opening, they nailed it.
  10. Bahhhhh, I forgot to mention that one. And I was thinking of it, too. I really enjoyed the first game, gotta get to the other two.
  11. Crispy is correct in that the first game is the weakest as it was a launch title and short. I think I played it after 2? Not sure now. But I still liked it quite a bit. I think it took me maybe 7 hours. 2 really improved on a lot and I got 18 hours in it according to my 3DS log. 3 was definitely the best and it was around 20 hours for me.
  12. As much as I enjoyed my time in the PNW, I couldn’t deal with the crazy numbers of homelessness on the west coast. It’s bad enough in my city, but living where I do, I don’t deal with them except for work. And those weren’t positive experiences for the most part.
  13. It’s more than a handful, but okay. And I didn’t say you were a fanboy, just that your post came off like the troll posts of a decade or more ago. There are obviously quality games continuing to be released. They may just not be for your tastes and that’s fine. I’m just someone who enjoys a wide variety of games. I love the series. I’d recommend them all.
  14. I actually wouldn't mind living in Wyoming for the beautiful scenery up there. I still want to do a Yellowstone trip as an adult. But the scenery is about all it has.
  15. I mean, good for you. You like what you like. I'm just pointing out the obvious silliness of saying Nintendo has done nothing worthwhile or quality aside from 2 games in the last 6 years. That just comes off like some IGN fanboy trolling from way back in the day. There's nothing on Xbox for me, but that doesn't mean I'd call Halo or Gears shit series or anything.
  16. Kirby, Animal Crossing, 2 Fire Emblem games, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Metroid Dread, Smash Ultimate, we got a shit ton of new courses in Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Triangle Strategy, Shin Megami Tensei V, Luigi's Mansion 3, etc. And you can argue about the quality of the latest Pokemon games, but every iteration sells a bundle. Yeah, there's been a decent bit of high quality games for the Switch. You can say some of those just aren't for you personally, but saying there's only a Mario and Zelda and nothing else is just not accurate. Between me and the husband, we've got 68 physical Switch games, plus I have no idea how many more that are digital. I've been pretty satisfied with the system as a whole. Lot of people have.
  17. So tonight I air fried some pork chops and did veggies on the side. Just sliced up some squash, zucchini, asparagus and onions with some minced garlic and Cajun seasoning. Instead of using olive oil, I used the wagyu tallow and daaamn, that’s some good shit.
  18. Wasn't entirely sure of where to put this, but close enough. This is horrific. Everyone in charge of that jail where this man was held should be on trial for murder. What in the actual fuck. Note: the link includes some pretty rough photos. https://www.newsweek.com/2023/01/20/starved-death-american-jail-man-who-couldnt-pay-100-bail-1773459.html
  19. I've certainly had my disappointments with Nintendo over recent years, but we've gotten waaaay more quality content that a Zelda and a Mario.
  20. I wanted to be in the medical field since I was a kid. Nursing seemed doable without a decade of schooling and it paid well and provided a secure future.
