  1. I mean, I still like Laura Bush. But yeah, I was the pretty stereotypical conservative kid in high school. It started to shift when I met my husband right before graduation and saw that atheists weren't all evil and scary like I'd been led to believe my whole life. Then college shifted me further. He still teases me about that Bush sticker, though.
  2. Actually, our sex life has been better since I got off the BC. He's definitely still into it and my libido seems to have improved since I got off BC. That was the struggle for long, I just didn't have much drive. But I agree with the rest.
  3. No, you're correct. We've actually been discussing it some tonight while I cooked. I sliced my finger open while peeling potatoes, so he was forced to come take over and assist me. It's been productive, though.
  4. Yeah, I agree. It's been a gradual slide over the years and trust me, I hate myself for it. But I'm not a tub of lard. I can still run and be active. I think of lot of the more recent gain has been my job, as I'd tend to stress eat and not eat well at it. I did just change to a new position and there's way less stress and I've already noticed a difference in my eating habits. So I'm hoping this helps. I also know I just need to buckle down and exercise some self control. He just now tried to further explain the logic behind that that he's afraid I'll just keep gaining and our marriage will crumble, but still. I thought that was a really shitty way to go about this. It makes it all the more frustrating because it's not in line with how he normally is.
  5. Yeah, I'm not super engaged in the story, but these games have always been about the battles for me.
  6. I had a Bush/Cheney sticker on my car my senior year and I couldn't even vote in 2004.
  7. Just bought this, thanks. I love a good sports nonfiction and I wasn't aware of this one.
  8. Believe me, it's been a source of frustration. I married a wonderful man, but this is one thing he's not handled well. He says it's money thing and he wanted the house paid off first, now he's apparently waiting on the tax bill. But he's got insurance, so how much can he really have to pay out of pocket? And let's be real: We aren't poor by any means. At one point, he acted like there was this tiny bit of uncertainty about wanting kids, but I'm like it's been so long and we've always been adamant about not having them, so why this now? I'm to the point where I don't want kids at al at this age due to the inherent risks. And he's even older(39 in April). He even tried to bargain with me, saying he'd do it if I lost weight(i fully acknowledge I need to lose weight), but that REALLY didn't sit well with me and I let him have it. I know he's gonna end up doing it, but the contention all this time has really created some unnecessary tension.
  9. I’m not worried about an accidental pregnancy. But I will feel way better when he gets this done. It’s frustrating to me. I’ve done my part for nearly 2 decades. It’s his turn.
  10. I’m guessing they weren’t using condoms in that case.
  11. Lol, I don’t know. I’m hoping sooner rather than later since the mortgage just got paid off and a bunch of money is freed up now. We’re using this brand called Skyn and it’s not terrible. But after not using them for 13 years it’s kind of a bummer.
  12. Yeah, I’m currently playing Fire Emblem Engage and Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster. But I’ll definitely be making time for Kirby and Metroid Prime Remaster. Too much to play!
  13. Definitely not. I’m 35(36 in august) and I’ve been on BC since I was 18. I got off of it to try to push my husband to get a vasectomy sooner. He says he will later this year. We’re just using condoms now.
  14. Lot of really good character moments in this episode. Light on action, but the quality of the dialogue made up for it. Next week gonna get dark. Also looks like we get flashbacks from Left Behind. That’s where I figured they cover it since Joel is incapacitated for now.
  15. Fire Emblem Engage on Switch and Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster on Steam Deck.
  16. Current nonfiction is The Red Prince: John of Gaunt by Helen Carr. Still reading The Passage and Shuggie Bain. Oh, and Empire of Pain was excellent. Infuriating. Highly recommend.
  17. Well, of course not. I just wouldn’t encourage him to get his hopes up.
  18. I had it when I got up today. Honestly, getting off my BC has increased my sex drive. But I’m also not the person who needs to have it all the time.
  19. This. It really sucks what she’s going through, but there’s always a risk. Actual malpractice is hard to prove. Unless it’s just obvious.
  20. I'm waiting on the new AMD CPUs. Not everyone lives near a Microcenter.
  21. I've always followed this case, but yeah, the most likely conclusion always seemed the pilot did it. Great article. the trailer seemed to delve into conspiracy theory territory, I hope that isn't what this series is, because I'd like to watch it.
