  1. TLOU on PC. It runs nicely on my new rig, though the VRAM on the 3080 FE limits me to high settings at 1440p. But I'm getting like 80-90FPS. I figure I'll play through most of the game one the beast PC in the game room where I can go ultra/4K.
  2. All I want is to take my rifles to the woods and shoot deer and squirrel to make tasty dishes. Like, I bought a new rifle a few weeks ago, a 7mm-08 Ruger M77. Beautiful walnut stock and blue barrel and it's left-handed, which is what I've been wanting and they're harder to find. Can't wait for deer season. That's all I really care about as far as guns go.
  3. Finally off to watch a game and the Bs stink it up. Hope they can come back better Friday.
  4. Sale had a great day yesterday, but that aside, Boston’s pitching is a disaster.
  5. A slug gun. That's not what I expected. Those shells ain't cheap. I still can't find any 20ga slugs for my gun.
  6. NLG, I really like this new RGB case. Very happy I upgraded that. Gonna hop in the shower and test out TLOU when I get out.
  7. He just sent me a text bitching about all the cabling for the RGB. 🤣 He hates cable management.
  8. Husband was putting all my new stuff together when I left for work. Took my current stuff outside to blow all the dust out with the air compressor. It was baaaaad. Keeping my 3080, power supply and NVME. Just leaving out my two old 512gb SSDs and if I run out of space on my 2TB nvme, I’ll just buy another. My new mobo has 3 ports. Sending my case and old parts, along with a 1080 to his friend in Oregon. She and her wife don’t have a lot of spare cash, she’s been transitioning, going through a lot, and her current PC is super old. I don’t think she plays a ton of new stuff, so this should be okay for her at 1080p.
  9. I think I have more of an attachment to the first game and I like the pacing better, but I really can’t find much to complain about for Part II. It’s just so heartbreaking and bleak.
  10. I might be a bit perplexed if my doorbell rang at 10pm, but the idea of shooting someone is just beyond me. Fucking sickening.
  11. I thought it was quite good, but yeah, I would have liked another season to finish it off properly. I felt like they really did Aethelstan dirty. I hated him for at least half the movie. Books gave him a better portrayal.
  12. I'd definitely be wary of anyone pounding on my door in the middle of the night, gun or no gun.
  13. I think it's safe to say I'm going to be playing more TLOU tonight. Maybe Metroid Prime. I'm such an idiot for starting TLOU before finishing Prime.
  14. They could have seen a random black guy and things could have gone very bad very quick. That was an incredibly stupid thing to do.
  15. I somehow don’t think Walgreens permits their employees to carry firearms. And it’s just not worth it to confront shoplifters. At least not when you’re making a meager wage working for a wealthy company. I was kinda reminded of a situation at work a few months back where a tech got fired. She brought a loaded pistol to work in her bag, ON THE FUCKING PSYCH UNIT, a patient went through the bag, found the gun and hid it in a trash can. Patient was found later going through the trash and tried saying he was looking for his water bottle he dropped and the gun was found. what the fuck.
  16. Christ almighty, this thread. Fuck the police, though. I mean, if it were me, I wouldn’t have opened the door or I wouldn’t turned on the light and peeked out the window. But. In a country full of gun nuts and the idea of owning a firearm for self defense, it makes sense this guy did what he did. If the police had done their due diligence, he’d still be alive.
  17. Some states have a holiday honoring confederate history. It’s definitely not a national holiday.
  18. I showed him the Pride ads done by Coors and he just gave this disgusted look and groaned. I always give him shit about liking shitty weak beer.
  19. Finished all three of the books I'd been reading a few days ago, so I started fresh yesterday. Fiction: The Shadows We Hide by Allen Eskens Nonfiction: Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond
  20. Tested out the new setup last night. Played about an hour and half of TLOU and it runs pretty good. Ultra, native 4K, averaging 70FPS, though there were some drops to the 50s. Debating on if I want to scale the resolution and get better performance, but I dunno. Still some weird missing textures in a couple spots I've noticed so far. But it's entirely playable as it is. Time to order the parts for my PC and get this all set up!
