  1. I start my 6 in a row off now, so it’s gonna be Zelda every day.
  2. I also think I’m gonna start Pride and Prejudice. I’ve never read Jane Austen and I wanna watch the 2005 movie. But I feel I should give the book a go first. All my Goodreads friends rated it highly, so I hope I can get into it.
  3. Husband beat it last night. I think he’s ready for a breather after marathoning this and Zelda. He really liked it. I went downstairs the other night when he was playing and saw there’s a gay character. I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve still got a ton of Zelda left, but I’d like to prioritize this game this year. 3 months til Japan, maybe I can finish Zelda and get through this before we go.
  4. I’d definitely play the God of War and Last of Us stuff. Can’t believe you skipped them. For Nintendo, at least play Donkey Kong and Luigi’s Mansion3.
  5. Read The Whispers by Ashley Audrain in one work night this week. Now started The Stolen Hours by Allen Eskins. Also still working on When Evil Lived in Laurel for my nonfiction.
  6. I find myself watching YouTube more than anything else lately. Who are your faves? Mine mostly tend to fall in line with my interests. History Hits - a variety of mini docs and historians. I like the episodes where historians reviews scenes from movies and shows. I discovered Eleanor Jenega through this channel and now she’s one of my favorite historians. Dominic Noble - book fanatic who reviews new books and compares movie adaptations to the books they were based on. He mostly does fantasy, but I loved his reviews of 50 Shades and Twilight. He rips them apart. Jaime French - millennial who mostly does pop culture stuff. I mainly watch her movie reviews from the 90s and 00s. I’m familiar with a lot of them and her humor appeals to me. Cinema Therapy - Johnathan Decker(therapist) and his friend Alan Seawright(filmmaker) review movies and analyze the relationships and personalities in them. They’re funny while also handling serious subjects thoughtfully. Ask a Mortician - Caitlin Doughty, a funeral industry reformer talks about death. My favorite videos are the history episodes. Gamesack - middle aged dude reviewing retro games. A lot of them are interesting, some are more techie and bore me. AVGN - I feel like everyone knows who the Nerd is.
  7. I recommend playing the first game. It's really fantastic and you get to become acquainted with the characters, making the story in Ragnarok better.
  8. I got Horizon and Days Gone from Fanatical since they were cheaper. Not really much I'm wanting right now, tbh.
  9. Come from behind and sweep the Jays. Nice. Crazy how they’ve dominated the Jays and Yankees so far this season and get crushed by so many lesser teams. Jaren Duran is another bright spot this season. I was ready to toss him in the garbage heap last year. 4 doubles today, very nice.
  10. Yeah, 36 next month. It’s just nice hearing you aren’t the only one. Husband and I have had plenty of thoughtful discussions on it. Helps having a supportive partner. I just need to build up my self esteem. I’ve got a friend who’s totally down to take me out and be my wing woman whenever I’m ready.
  11. Every marriage is different. I don’t think it’s super uncommon. And I’ve talked with several people about it. He doesn’t want to share me romantically and I have no desire to involve myself with another person that way.
  12. Well, you dream big dreams, I’ll give you that.
  13. He’s got a new one coming in a few weeks. This was my first from him, but I’ll definitely be reading more.
  14. My dad works ER and he recently got a patient who had driven two hours from what was supposed to be a grocery trip in Memphis and ended up in their podunk town. His family had put out a Silver Alert on him. That’s what we’re worried about with my grandma. My grandpa died at 87 and he was on the verge of having his keys taken away because his eyesight had gotten so bad. He was just driving in daylight hours to town by the end.
  15. Finished Mindhunter, that’s going into the donation pile. Show was more compelling. The book is just Douglas stroking his ego for 400 pages. And a lot of questionable “science.” Just finished The River by Peter Heller. Now that was a beautiful, lyrical story. I love survival stories and that ranks high on my list. Seems like something @thewhyteboar would like. You ever read him? Next up I’m going for The Nightmare Man by JH Markert(fiction) and When Evil Lived in Laurel by Curtis Wilkie(nonfiction).
  16. Somewhat related, my family recently had to take my other grandma’s keys away from her. She’s 87 and dementia is taking hold and I don’t think she’s far from a nursing home. She’s still very much aware and stubborn enough to put up a fight and it’s been hard on her. She wants so badly to maintain her independence but it’s simply not safe for her to drive anymore. The 83 year old is doing better. She’s fully independent and mostly sticks to driving in town. She hates driving to the nearest city(something like 80k population) and usually just goes straight to my aunt’s place and has her chauffeur her around to doctors appointments and such.
  17. Yeah, that’s not happening with my 83 year old grandmother. Nevermind how you’re supposed to carry sacks of groceries on a bike. You also removed the whole section about where my husband grew up. As someone who spent the first 25 years of my life in rural areas, this is absolutely not practical for tons of people.
  18. Wat I grew up in a small town, living on the outskirts. It’s a few miles to the closest grocery store. Elderly folks supposed to bike that far? Husband’s hometown is even worse. All they have is a Dollar General and the nearest town is 10 miles up the highway.
  19. That’s kinda what I got from what little I’d read, but like I said, I wasn’t familiar enough to make an adequate judgement.
  20. Yeah, and that’s a lot of smoke for there to be no fire. Love all these chuds on IGN defending him. They always bring up Johnny Depp, as if that validates all their notions that women are always lying to hurt successful men. I didn’t even really follow the Depo case closely enough to know if he was really a piece of shit or not.
  21. I sort of know the feeling. I adore my husband and things are great between us, but if I were single, I’d probably be all over the women now. He’s left the door open for me to get some female experience if I want. I’m just socially awkward and don’t know how to approach that. 😩
  22. Jonathan Majors’ ‘Extreme Abuse’ Allegedly Goes Back Nearly a Decade WWW.ROLLINGSTONE.COM Jonathan Majors was abusive with his partners and a source of “toxicity” at Yale, say 22 sources. Majors “categorically denies” all accusations
