  1. I still need to finish Persona 5 and I don't think I'll make it before Spider-Man arrives. Guess it'll be put on delay for a few more days. How could you not enjoy any of the Arkham games?
  2. I've not even hit 30k miles on my 2013 Nissan Frontier. It's been paid off for 2 years, so it's gonna be a while before I even consider getting another vehicle. Don't want another payment when we're 5 years shy of paying off the mortgage.
  3. What're we supposed to do? He posted something stupid 6 years ago. It's dumb, but there's worse. I don't like his view on guns, but am I supposed to crucify him? Demand he be fired? I wasn't even that bothered by the Brewers pitcher. He said some awful stuff as a teenager. By all accounts, that's not who he is anymore. I changed a lot from my teens going into adulthood and I'd hate to be judged today for something shitty I said as an ignorant kid.
  4. 11 runs on 12 hits in one inning is pretty damn amazing, even if it's against the Marlins. Hope this sets the Sox back on track.
  5. Hah, I can never see them in Mexico. My dad taunts me all the time saying Trump is the greatest president this country has ever seen. I think he's totally serious, too. My mom is also a Trumper.
  6. I have some genuine concern for my parents and their retirement. They're not living paycheck to paycheck and they're both nurses, but I seriously have no idea how well they've planned for retirement. I know they have 401ks, but I don't know what their savings is really like. I do know they burn through plenty of cash on things they could probably do without. I just hope they're going to be set, because they're 54 and 55 right now.
  7. Unfortunately I see it all the damn time. I'm not one of those people who think poor people should dress in rags and survive on spam and beans or whatever. But at least try to make good decisions.
  8. I'm all for it. I just take a dim view of humanity in general. Like with these people, her husband doesn't want to consistently hold a job and as a result, is ineligible for rehire at a lot of local businesses. And while she's working for the moment and going to school to try for nursing, she claims all these severe pain(fibromyalgia) and anxiety problems. Like, it's to the point where she avoids talking to people on the phone. If you can't make a phone call, you ain't making it as a nurse. Plus, they have 4 kids, despite having lived in total poverty all their lives. And the kids weren't accidents. They wanted that many. Said she would have had more, too, if she hadn't had complications and had to get her tubes tied with the last. I dunno, I read about her daily problems on FB and sometimes I'm just like...
  9. While being fully aware of wage stagnation and higher living costs, I wonder how much of this could be helped if the average American just wasn't stupid with money. I know this family who has always lived in total poverty, but both parents smoke and I fucking swear they get pet after pet. Pets are wonderful, but if you struggle with your own necessities, you probably don't need to have 3 dogs and 5 cats.
  10. I see a lot of hospital visits from people who are noncompliant with their meds. Pretty sure covering the drugs would be cheaper than repeated hospital visits. Hell, I work with a girl whose mom frequently comes to the ED because she doesn't take her meds for her CHF. Comes in fluid overloaded, gets a new script, runs out, then comes back to the ED again when she's out. And she doesn't pay her bills, for sure. Wonder where that cost falls?
  11. I mean, as long as you have some hobbies in common with your spouse, it's okay. My husband couldn't care less about my sports obsession(though at least he goes to games with me) or hunting(though he loves the products from it).
  12. Some games I want physical copies of, some games I prefer to have on my system at all times for easy play. Plus, my husband and I play some of the same games and there's no need to buy multiple copies digitally. Why buy Mario Odyssey twice? Octopath Traveler? Bayonetta? You get the idea.
  13. I'm really split. Pretty much any multiplat game, I'm buying on PC and of course, that's digital. I'm split when it comes to the Switch, I have a lot digital, but plenty of physical on the shelf, too. PS4, I just haven't felt any reason to go digital, unless it's a PSN exclusive.
  14. She fatally shot an unarmed black man. Now she’s teaching other police officers how to ‘survive’ such incidents.

  16. Given that I buy most of my physical media on Amazon, there's no reason for me not to preorder the games I know I'm going to want on release day. Saves me a trip to the store and I get my game on release day. Seems like a reasonable action to me.
  17. Why? A lot of people like to play stuff on day one. We've been waiting for moths and years for these games.
