  1. Yep, the husband has used the RetroBrite method on several devices. It's definitely time consuming, though. All this just depends on how into the hobby you are.
  2. Looks fine, if you're willing to pay the price. I've just had so many of these things for so long, I've lost track of how many we actually have and back in the day, they didn't cost that much. I think I paid that much for a model 2 SNES complete in the box back in 2014 on vacation. :P
  3. Most TVs still have composite. Our 4k does.
  4. I gotta get back to my books or else I'm not gonna hit my goal of 50 for the year. I've been sitting at 45 for 11 days now.
  5. Well, these systems are over 20 years old, so you'll be a little hard-pressed to find one in immaculate condition and you'll probably have to pay a bit of a premium. A Retron would probably be okay for someone like you. I just don't like them, because I prefer original hardware and these types of consoles generally have issues with emulation.
  6. I prefer authenticity, but I guess it's okay for people who aren't picky.
  7. I'm just going by what he says he wants. Plus, I'm not a fan of those types of consoles.
  8. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Nintendo-SNES-Console-Video-Game-System-Complete/263948824561?epid=219532720&hash=item3d74936ff1:g:89oAAOSwFzZbo9-E There you go. Like I said, just read the description and if the seller has good feedback, you're fine.
  9. I don't play bad games. I don't waste my time on them. I'm enjoying it a little more, but it's not going to come close to GotY for me.
  10. I figured this was coming. I've got various ways to play these games, so I'm not in a hurry to get this version. Needs to come to Switch, I'd be all over that.
  11. Ain't nobody got a CRT these days, unless you're a retro games nut, like those of us on this sub-forum. But like I said, just use the composite input on your TV. Unless you're spending a lot of money and effort into an elaborate setup like a lot of us have here, a cheap converter is still gonna look like ass on a modern TV.
  12. We have some really nice custom Shock Boxes for the MVS games I know my husband had several complaints about the converter, which is why he went with the Omega.
  13. I'm pretty skeptical that Biggie wants to put in the money or effort just to casually play Super Tecmo Bowl
  14. We sold our AES a year ago and no regrets. The Omega is fantastic and MVS carts are cheaper.
  15. Find a seller with good feedback, read the listing thoroughly, and you shouldn't have a problem. I use eBay all the time for retro stuff and I've hardly ever had an issue because I do my homework. Also, your TV probably has a composite input, most still do, I think. If so, don't bother with the converter. It's gonna look like shit, either way.
  16. Also, probably expect to spend $50 or so on the system. There's a pretty good demand for it, so they're not dirt cheap.
  17. Buy a converter, I guess. I've never used one, though, so I don't know how shitty they are. My husband built a pretty elaborate setup for our stuff, so I don't have to go the cheap way.
  18. eBay, local game store, etc. They're not hard to find.
  19. It's kinda easy to forget about. It was announced ages ago, been delayed, and we haven't seen a whole lot of it that's promising. I still hope for the best, but my initial hype has seriously been dampened. Now, it's just a "wait and see" take for me.
  20. Well then, I fully expect @SaysWho? to give an appropriate response when he comes back from his vacay.
  21. Does anyone think it's a real possibility at this point that Collins or Murkowski won't confirm him? We fucked up with Clarence Thomas, this is far more serious.
  22. Eh, they're not great and we have the real thing, plus an Omega. Really no need for this, especially since it's not great.
