  1. https://www.dailysignal.com/2019/10/18/eric-metaxas-on-faith-and-supporting-donald-trump/amp/ Yeah, fuck that guy. But it happens. I bought and read a book written by the woman who authored Sarah Palin’s autobiography and didn’t even realize it until I was on the last 30 pages or so. It was still a good book about the USS Indianapolis.
  2. The one from Eric Metaxas? I bought it for my (fundamentalist)aunt a few years ago at Christmas, it's what she asked for. I'd actually be interested in reading a bio on him, but Metaxas is a evangelical Trump-supporting shitgiblet, she I can't make myself spend money on his books.
  3. More Link’s Awakening. Gawd, why haven’t I been gaming for the last few months? This is great fun!
  4. Now starting Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. Somehow I'd never heard of this book, the case, or that there was a movie last year on it, with some big name actors. A friend of mine just read it and she recommended it to me. I'm probably gonna start Order of the Phoenix later tonight.
  5. lol, The Witcher 3 being a bad game. Anyway, I'm finally playing something again. Got back into Link's Awakening this morning and I'll play more tonight. I'm going to beat the game this time. No more breaks.
  6. I want to binge Unbelievable but my husband is interested in it now. 3 episodes just tonight.
  7. Watched Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (EE) tonight. First time I’ve seen it in over a decade. I’d forgotten most of it. This is a really great fantasy film. You can tell some of the CGI isn’t that great by today’s standards, but nothing that detracts from the film. 9/10. Going to watch the others, but it’s gonna be more like one per weekend. I’d like to watch The Hobbit movies at some point, too. I’ve never seen any of them.
  8. Finished Goblet of Fire, so I need to get back to The Plot Against America. Of course, I’m also about to start Order of the Phoenix again.
  9. They’re not going to get that much for what amounts to a one year rental.
  10. Yep. I mean, the examples are really endless. Some people are just bad. Not saying he’s deserving of a painful death, but rewarding him with the highest civilian honor in the nation is an insult to the people who actually earned it.
  11. Neither do I and I know he's absolutely horrid, so I didn't really question that he said that at first, until I shared it with someone and they pointed it out. The awful shit he's perpetuated over his entire career is endless. Let's also not forget that he mocked Michael J Fox's Parkinson's.
  12. I just wonder who will ultimately sign him. Not many teams can afford what he’s wanting.
  13. They already have quite the expensive payroll, don’t they?
  14. You don’t think LA is gonna try hard to sign him long term?
  15. I was in a patient’s room and heard his saying something about this being the most inclusive America or some bullshit. I actually snorted.
  16. As fun as 2018 was, Boston really put themselves in a hole to get there. This isn’t going to be a fun season to watch. Especially with NY so jacked.
  17. Welp, Mookie and Price to LA. I knew it was coming but I’m still sad.
  18. I think you meant to quote me. I thought your post was referring to the supposed comments about Eric Garner, which I haven’t been able to find. Someone else had posted a tweet about it prior to your post and I hadn’t been able to source it. But yes, I know there is a plethora of examples of him being a complete shit stain on the human race. Which is why I don’t know why people need to make up quotes.
  19. Also, this thread and the book I'm currently reading have painfully reminded me of the biggest failure to sign in recent Red Sox history: Jon Lester. I loved that guy and they lowballed him so badly before the 2014 season. Guy even indicated he wanted to stay in Boston and would take a discount to do so and they still insultingly undercut his value. At least he went to my NL team and helped them end a World Series drought, so that was a little silver lining. But still. I wanted that guy to retire in Boston. He should have.
  20. I really want to see the play while in NYC this summer, but ugh at $400 minimum for us both to go.
  21. I think you just like to pontificate. I've been trying to think of the right word lately, I believe I found it.
  22. If someone could provide a link to where he actually said that, I'd appreciate it. I can't find that specifically. Plenty of awful things out there we know he said. I'm just not sure that's one of them and I like to get it right before I publicly post.
