  1. I'm probably always going to have a truck, they come in handy too often. But I don't typically put a lot of miles on my vehicles, so I'm not all that worried. And I drive a mid-sized with a V6.
  2. Now reading The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare and 1776 by David McCullough.
  3. I’ll be a single issue voter, regarding judicial appointments. Let’s not pretend Trump and Biden are equally bad.
  4. I picked up my 3DS this morning and played Kirby's Epic Yarn. Thinking I may start Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia soon.
  5. I mean...isn't this someone that should bother everyone? Who the fuck does this and thinks it's okay?
  6. Lol, because of course. Meanwhile, we’re worried about Joe Biden’s stuttering. https://www.washingtonpost.com/history/2020/03/07/flu-trump-grandfather-death-coronavirus/?utm_campaign=wp_main&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook
  7. A lot of them, yeah. And to clarify, several of my younger white coworkers don’t vote, either. But I know quite a few who do. These women will talk about tv shows and celebrity gossip all day long, but they don’t know shit about what’s going on in the country. I strongly encouraged one of my black friends who’s moving to Dallas in a couple weeks to vote. She’s 27. Said she’s voted before, but not regularly. She did say she’d vote this year. Texas could really use the blue votes.
  8. Hardly any of the black people I’m friends with at work are voting. Granted most of them are young, but it kills me. They’re the ones who need to be voting the most. And it’s like they don’t care enough to.
  9. I need to read The Stand. I got it for Christmas. Just not ready for another uber long SK book quite yet.
  10. Had a lot of great times with the system, I played the hell out of it. But it’s one of the retro systems I care little about today. Much of the library hasn’t held up.
  11. I feel like I've largely moved past it as an adult and we have an overall better relationship now, though there are still occasional blow ups. I just live farther away and don't see her on a daily basis, which has done wonders. Sometimes, I get triggers that remind me of that stuff, like in this thread. Or I'll just be having a bad day and start thinking about old stuff. Crazy enough, I have semi-regular dreams about fights with her and I wake up with bad feelings. I guess it never fully leaves you, but overall, I could be a lot worse off now. But, yeah, I get the struggles with stuttering and other speech impediments. I do worry about Biden's overall mental state, but sometimes people give him too much shit when the particular issue is his stutter.
  12. My mom has a tendency to be really antagonistic and when I was younger, she’d mock my speech when I got angry and flustered at her. Shit sticks with you.
  13. This has definitely happened to me. I’ve always had a mild stutter, particularly when I get more excited or passionate about a topic and I tend to talk faster. I’ve used completely wrong words before. Probably why I always hated public speaking and had bad anxiety when I had to do it for school assignments. Sometimes, I really have to just stop and force myself to sloooow down.
  14. Now that my HP-a-thon is done, I’m trying to wrap up Playing with Fire. Also started The Pale Horseman by Bernard Cornwell last night. Need to get back to some of the series I’ve started.
  15. First game I beat in 2020... The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening(Switch) Gotta get on a roll and do more. Technically I started it when it released back in September but I didn’t get too far.
  16. I guess I missed all the controversy. Sometimes it's nice that I don't watch cable news.
  17. Why would you hate the term? It’s very real and very damaging. I thought you cared about psychological trauma.
