  1. I'm exasperated, too. But I think you're minimizing the riots and violence.
  2. I'm not just talking about today. Just the attitude in general. I've already said the system is corrupt, but I'm not against every police officer, like some here. I just watched a video of some store owner get the shit beat out of him by rioters.
  3. Eh, not really. Some of you seem to be frothing at the mouth for violence.
  4. I get the impression some of you guys would have been cheering on Reginald Denny’s attackers in 1992.
  5. I don't think all police are bad. I just think the system is rotten. I know some really good cops.
  6. A few more I forgot about. Husband bought 3 and 4 a while back, I got him 5 for his birthday. We've got 1 and 2, I bought those wayyyyy back in college, ha.
  7. Glad I didn’t work tonight. Protestors are blocking traffic on the interstate, which is how I get to the hospital. Not a fan of that. But everything has been peaceful in my city so far.
  8. I was pretty much indifferent to MoS. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Which was kinda disappointing because I love Henry Cavill. I think he fit the role well, though. I just don't remember a ton about the movie and I've never been compelled to revisit it.
  9. I go back and forth on The Dark Tower series. Horror appeals more to me, but I hear they're good, so I dunno. I've got enough to lead for the next few years, even I I don't buy any more books, though.
  10. I just got my copy this week! Not sure when I'll get to it, though. Yes, definitely read the book first.
  11. I tried Demon's Souls years ago. These games aren't for me.
  12. Oh, and as for his movies, I really loved Misery. Felt it stayed true to the book and the hobbling was somehow more brutal than simply cutting off his foot. Watched The Shining after reading the book and I honestly wasn't impressed. Jack Nicholson is great, as usual, but I felt the book was a lot better. The movie could have been shorter. Don't recall much about the original Pet Sematary, other than being freaked out as a kid, but I actually kind of liked the new one. The 2017/2019 IT was good, though part one was better. And Shawshank is one of my favorite movies of all time, though I never read that short story. I've watched both seasons of Castle Rock and really liked it.
  13. I read Cujo and Dream Catcher in high school. Liked the former, the latter was a struggle to finish. Really turned me off SK for years. Finally, I decided to give him another try in 2018. I wanted a horror book to read that October, so I picked Pet Sematary. Loved it. Decided to keep reading his stuff. In addition, I've since read: 'Salem's Lot(liked), IT(liked), The Shining(loved), Misery(loved), Carrie(liked), and Elevation(liked). My my TBR shelf(yes, I have a shelf dedicated to TBR), I've got The Institute, The Outsider, If It Bleeds, Doctor Sleep, The Stand, 11/22/63, and Mr Mercedes.
  14. Started American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century by Maureen Callahan last night. I'm about to go get my oil changed and I'm taking Sword Song by Bernard Cornwell to start today.
  15. My first retro buy in a while:
  16. I don't think a single person here is excusing racism. I haven't seen one defense of the murderer.
  17. Yeah, I want to read his Warlord Chronicles and Agincourt was only $5 on Book Outlet, so I grabbed it.
  18. Registered nurse in a large hospital. No pay increase. Husband has been working from home since well before t he pandemic. We qualified for the $2400 and received it. Considering I've been exposed to this and had multiple coworkers get it, seems like some friggin' hazard pay would be needed here.
