  1. I once called police on a suspicious person walking around my house at 3am dressed all in black. I used the non-emergency number, though. They came, looked for the guy but didn’t find him. Talked to me for a bit, though.
  2. I guess it get why they were so popular when they first came out. It was something new and the technology was impressive. But personally, I find them boring as hell. I didn’t try to watch them until my 20s and it was pretty painful. Started with the prequels, but I couldn’t be bothered to watch Return of the Jedi. Traded the Blu-ray set for a CIB Conker’s Bad Fur Day and it was one of the most ridiculously profitable trades I’ve ever made. My biggest issue is the wooden acting and dialogue. It was unforgivably bad in the prequels, especially since they were so much newer, but the originals weren’t much better. Like I was watching a high school play, just going by the line delivery. My husband felt the same as me. He’s also never seen them before we tried watching them. We’re nerds who don’t give a fuck about SW.
  3. My neighborhood and surrounding area is 7%, the lowest being 5%. Go across town, though, where most black people are concentrated and it goes up to as high as 23%.
  4. 11.6% of our combined income. But we also put $1100 extra on the principal every month, so we're on track to have it paid off in a total of 10 years. We have 4 to go. It's our only debt and we'd like to be rid of it ASAP. We split the mortgage each month.
  5. As good as The Saxon Stories series is, I'm gonna take a short break so I don't burn out. Getting back to Alone on the Ice and it's picking up, so I think I'll focus on finishing it. I'm over halfway through. Sometimes, I get frustrated with nonfiction, when it veers off the main story. This one started off strong, with the beginnings of trouble on the expedition, then diverted to a bunch of unrelated expeditions, that I found fairly dull. But now we're back on track and it's more engrossing. For my next novel, I'm going to start A Burning by Megha Majumdar. Debut author, literary fiction. It'll be an ice change of pace.
  6. Until there are games, I couldn't really give a shit. And I'm not seeing anything particularly compelling right away.
  7. That comic reminded me of an exchange I had with another person in a FB group a few nights ago. She told me that reptiles weren't animals. And I'm 99% sure she was serious, judging from her angry reactions at me. Including when I explained biological taxonomy to her. It started because she was angry over people posting snake photos in a backroads group. She said animals were allowed, but not "poisonous reptiles." Sorry, just a little tangent.
  8. Four games, actually. The entire series is postponed.
  9. I still preorder stuff, mostly special editions and such. And Amiibo. I don't see the big deal with it. You can always cancel.
  10. Went on a little retro spree recently. Some of them commons I just missed getting over the years.
  11. I'm rewatching The Last Kingdom. Been reading the books and forgetting how the show differed. Kinda wanting to start the Vikings series here soon.
  12. Maybe this will be the year I finally try pumpkin beer.
  13. I've always used a pizza pan. Just did tonight. Easy peasy.
  14. Seems we've been managing better at work. No one else I work with has gotten sick. Always make me sad when I hear a Code Blue called on the Covid unit, though, which seems to happen pretty regularly. In a bit more positive news, at least for me, I finally got my hazard pay. An extra $2k on my check and they're talking of extending it.
  15. Went through The Burning Land in two days, so good, I decided to move straight on to Death of Kings. Still working on Alone on the Ice. It’s a bit drier than I expected, though.
  16. I could buy a boxed NES for that price. I didn’t realize Legos were that expensive.
  17. Checked mine. I couldn’t tell you the last time I played it, it’s been years. But the battery is fine. I always left my battery out when I wasn’t using it.
  18. Maybe I think too much, but, yeah, I always found those types of questions weird. I think, based on where I live now, if I ever want to go to Eureka Springs again(it’s a really lovely tourist town and a LBGT haven, oddly enough) I’d pass through Harrison. I wouldn’t plan on making any stops, though.
  19. Oh, Harrison? I've never even been there in my 33 years of living in this state. No reason to go. It's in the boonies, not really close to anything I'd need or want to visit. What a weird thing to say.
  20. So stupid the game doesn't keep track of time. I've been playing a while, but I'm not even out of the first chapter. I just keep exploring the map, doing side quests. I'm definitely not rushing through this one.
  21. I earn something like 6.5 hours of PTO every two weeks. That's pretty standard for my field, though.
