  1. Got my first dose this morning. Glad I handed off my report quickly because I was one the first four and that line got long quick. so far, no anaphylaxis or sprouting of a third arm or anything. So that’s good.
  2. Yeah, drunk Eivor when I load the game is annoying. Does anyone else also get random ranking in FPS? I’m running it in 1080p and for the most part it’s stable, but in random areas, it’ll just drop to the teens. Really annoying.
  3. Yeah, it sucks. So far, she doesn't seem too bad. She's bummed about Christmas being canceled and was taking a drive to the countryside today. My family isn't large, so we were just gonna do a small get together. I'm pretty bummed. But she's been near both my grandmas in the last couple days. No touching and masks were on, but of course, I'm concerned. My whole family is quarantining, excep my dad(for now). He's also a nurse(ED) and apparently had a mild case back in late October. For now, he has to be at work. Fuck this entire year, man.
  4. Husband and I are staying home for Christmas. My dad called, said my mom tested positive this morning. She's been taking care of covid patients at her hospital this entire time.
  5. Yeah, this is one of the only instances I can think of where I watched the movie first and have always been satisfied with that. Maybe some day I’ll get to the books. At any rate, I’d start with The Hobbit first.
  6. I've debated trying to read these books in more recent years. I tried in high school, but they were so dull. I'd like to read them, but at least the movies were satisfying.
  7. I’ll take it, but what’s $600 gonna do for the people who really are in dire straights now?
  8. I'm about halfway through Race Against Time, but I've now started Blood Memory by Greg Iles.
  9. I struggled to get through that game. Played it earlier this year and I agree. Boss battles were tedious and largely not fun. That was actually my first DMC game I played more than an hour or two of. Dunno what prompted me to start it, but I'm not sure if I'll play any of the others.
  10. The Valkyrie in God of War. I got to the last one and kept dying and I just stopped caring.
  11. If the covid subsides enough and we keep our Japan plans for 2022, this is definitely on the list.
  12. Thankfully neither myself nor my husband had the joycon drift problem. All these systems we own, and virtually no problems. I love the 360 controller, still use it on my PC. Sometimes I debate upgrading, though. I don't play fighting games, so the d-pad isn't an issue for me.
  13. I got totally bashed in a Facebook group for saying it was disappointing that the game was released like this. Apparently I need to just play the game for myself because it runs great on a PS4!
  14. Alrighty, I’m scheduled to get the first dose of the vaccine Tuesday morning after my shift.
  15. I've rarely had console issues over the years. My PS2 fatty stopped playing CDs, but that's about it. I played the unholy fuck out of my DS Lite and never had the cracked hinges. Never had the issue with my original 3DS, either.
  16. Yeah, too much bloat and a really dull world. I was glad when I beat it so I could be done. I do agree, the combat was decent. I just didn’t love much else.
  17. I don’t know of any that have surprised me. Maybe Mad Max? I beat it, but sometimes I look back and wonder why I spent 33 hours with it because it wasn’t all that fun.
  18. Introverted doesn’t mean you hate people. I’m introverted as fuck, but even I’m tired of not going much of anywhere. I miss occasional dates with small groups of friends. Only been out with friends twice all year and it sucks.
  19. I’ve definitely got my money’s worth with Animal Crossing. 260 hours and counting. AC Valhalla, Ghost of Tsushima, and Last of Us Part II round out my list.
  20. Fiction: The Mothers by Brit Bennett. Her second book, The Vanishing Half is my BOTY for 2020 and I've heard her debut isn't quite as good, but the premise still makes me want to read it. Nonfiction: Race Against Time: A Reporter Reopens the Unsolved Murder Cases of the Civil Rights Era by Jerry Mitchell. I'd always had an interest in finding a good book about the 1964 civil rights workers murders and this came out right around the time I was looking. These will be books 94 and 95 on the year for me. Kinda wish I could hit 100, but it's not quite going to happen.
  21. I'm just hoping we can still go to Japan in 2022. Damn pandemic. I'd planned to take a trip to the UK and Ireland in 2021, but it's looking like we're still not going to be able to travel domestically next year, at least not until late in the year.
  22. They're just as goddamned stupid as the rest of the populace. There's really no special explanation.
  23. I want a 3080 so bad. Every time I see Newegg is doing a drop of cards, I get a little excited and then complete failure. This blows.
