General Gaming I finally beat Bioshock Infinite last night.

I loved Infinite, but I only played it once, when it had just released. I can't recall a ton about the story. I did enjoy the environments in the first two games more, though. -
Books What Are You Reading or Listening To?
CastlevaniaNut18 replied to rc0101's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
I ended up reading Along the Broken Bay by Flora Solomon just to continue whittling down my WWII fiction. I got burnt out on the genre, so I space them out now. It was decent, but a bit too...colonial? For my taste. Set in the Philippines and really made Filipinos look simple and subservient. Anyhoo, I started Finders Keepers after that and I just finished it. It was great. Stephen King writing a book about books. Good stuff. I’m eager to read the conclusion to this trilogy, but I’m not optimistic for Det-ret Hodges fate. Gonna switch gears and read The Kindest Lie by Nancy Johnson next. Should be a quick one. I'm also trying to whittle down my BOTM backlog. -
I love the series, especially the last three, but I wouldn’t mind a return to smaller scale. Stick with a city or two. and they can definitely cut down on the boring collectibles and meaningless side shit. I didn’t do any of the mushroom things in Valhalla and I only did one of those weird glitch puzzle things.

By the End of Summer, Arkansas Doctors Can Refuse to Treat LGBTQ Patients— The governor signed a bill granting doctors and medical professionals the right to refuse medically necessary treatment to patients based on moral, ethical or religious grounds

Probably. It wasn't much of a stand, he knew the legislature would override. He's likely eyeing a senate seat at some point. It' boggles my mind that a veto can be overridden with a simple majority. What's the fucking point of a veto in that case? -

I mean, this is just fucking infuriating. It makes me violently angry. I have a friend with a trans son who has been receiving hormone therapy for the last year or so. Unless the ACLU is successful in getting this blocked, come August, his treatments will stop. The treatments he was able to get after lengthy consultations with a therapist and his pediatrician. They knew what was best for him. Now these fucking Christian bigots are stepping in and saying they know better than this kid’s own doctors. Fuck these people. I wish there was a Hell for them to burn in. -

It bans any gender confirming treatments for trans youth. Of course it doesn’t ban treatment for general stuff, that’s insane. Except for the fact the state also just passed a law saying medical providers can refuse non-emergency treatment for people if they claim it conflicts with their beliefs. 🙄 -
All of my close family lives in a small rural town about two hours north of me. Same for my in-laws, except south.

What was your religious upbringing?
CastlevaniaNut18 replied to Fizzzzle's topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
I remember being legit afraid of the rapture coming and being left behind because I thought I was doing it all wrong and some of my family said the rapture would happen at some point in our lives. There's definitely a lot of trauma back there for me. -
I'm just reminded how insanely ridiculous religion is. At least on Christmas, there's pretty lights and presents. I hated Easter, even as a kid.

General Gaming What are you playing today?
CastlevaniaNut18 replied to CastlevaniaNut18's topic in The Spawn Point
I'm just glad they're doing them every other year now. I love the series, but they've gotten so long that I've definitely been feeling fatigue. I had 65 hours with Origins after doing all the main game stuff(not the DLC), then that huge leap with Odyssey.
