  1. I figure some stuff will drop in price to an extent, but these prices have been rising long before the pandemic. They just got an extra boost.
  2. I really didn’t look at my games as an investment when I was doing this years ago. I paid $250 for Snatcher and Panzer Dragoon Saga each about a decade ago, now they’re selling for $1100. And freaking Pokémon has gone batshit.
  3. Those prices aren’t just slightly inflated. They baaaaaad.
  4. It’s definitely on the list for our Japan trip next year.
  5. We started pricing DS and PSP stuff in our collection, so I consider it retro now. Holy shit, some of that stuff is EXPENSIVE now. I wish I'd added Persona 3 Portable back then. I just didn't think I needed it. I have the Persona 1 and 2 box sets, though. Even 3DS stuff has seen a spike. I looked up Dragon Quest 7 and 8 and damn.
  6. I wish. I haven't talked to them so I don't know what their thoughts are. I just wish my mom, who is a fucking nurse, wasn't being so dumb.
  7. Soooo, I talked to my dad a couple nights ago and I'm pretty pissed. Both my parents are nurses, Dad got vaccinated in December, as soon as he could. Mom got Covid at Christmas, but she's declined to get vaccinated because she's "just not sold on it." My brother refuses, too. Haven't talked to him, but he's took a turn down the crazy Trump train, so I'm sure it's something to do with that. Dad was telling me my mom wants to take a trip to see my great aunt and uncle in Florida this summer and he has liver cancer. But they won't get vaccinated. What the fuck. Everyone else in my family is vaccinated. My dad, both grandmas, both my dad's sisters. No problems with any of it. Why the fuck will my mom and brother not get vaccinated, ESPECIALLY if they want to travel to see an elderly sick family member in a few months? Just makes me want to scream.
  8. We did! Which is why I'm reading them all in order. Dunno when I'll get to The Outsider, but I loved the Mr Mercedes trilogy. I'm really digging SK as of late.
  9. I got with PS2 and back at retro now. Husband ordered a bunch of Famicom carts from Japan. I'll post here when they arrive. I love Famicom carts. So colorful.
  10. Miles Edgeworth 2 was great, you should definitely get on that. Oddly enough, I never finish Layton vs Wright, but I still have my copy, which is fairly pricey these days. I never got into the Layton games, though. Fan translations have let me play some really good stuff over the years. That early Fire Emblem sequel that was remade for DS was fantastic.
  11. Cool. I think I'll just stick with all my games on DS, but excellent for those who haven't played the series yet.
  12. It just gets brought up all the time and I'm still kinda surprised people don't know when it's been debunked over and over. Not just here, but everywhere. 100% not how this works.
  13. No, no, no, NO. You aim for center mass every time. Guns are meant to kill, not disarm. When your draw your gun, that means you're prepared to kill. This isn't a movie and trying to aim for smaller targets, like extremities isn't a thing. Trained cops don't even hit their targets much of the time, so trying to aim for an arm or leg in a high stress scenario is totally ridiculous. I haven't seen this video, so I'm not commenting on whether the use of force was justified here. Just the general idea that seems to come up every single time that this is some Clint Eastwood movie and cops should shoot the weapon out of someone's hand. That's not how it works. Ever.
