  1. World Without End was nearly as good as Pillars. Follett is a historical fiction master. Gonna read Night Shift by Stephen King. It’s my first short story collection from him.
  2. I kinda like laying here listening to the fireworks. My dog isn’t really bothered. She’s sleeping in her bed whil I read.
  3. Now reading World Without End by Ken Follett. I've heard the sequel to Pillars is just as good, so I'm excited.
  4. 12 years in between releases is nuts. I’ll get it for sure, but GTA is no longer the be all end all for me regarding open world games.
  5. I still need to read Don Winslow. I’ve had The Force on my shelf for a while.
  6. IIRC, they didn't announce themselves and were loudly banging on the door and it was late. I guess he thought there might have been a threat.
  7. Finished The Outsider and that was fuckin’ awesome. Now reading Blacktop Wasteland by SA Cosby.
  8. Second sweep of the Yankees and beat up on Gerrit Cole?
  9. My aunt and her husband, who have refused to get vaccinated, both have covid. She’s having a particularly difficult time. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  10. I played a little last night and it's simple, but fun. Looks pretty. Sometimes I just want something fun in short bursts.
  11. Husband has 46 hours in Ys VIII, so 35 isn't bad. I do think a lot of RPGs today are overly long, with too much filler. I don't mind a longer RPG, I'm playing Dragon Quest VIII right now and I know it's a good 60 hours or more, but it's been paced well so far. DQ VII took me around 85 hours and it was a slog at times. I liked it overall, but I was ready to be done with it. But I also miss the days of 30-40 hour RPGs and that's a good length for a lot of them.
  12. It was mostly his reaction. But I'm glad you're enjoying a game.
  13. JFC, watching you two is painful. Im playing more Dragon Quest VIII and I’ll gonna try out Mario Golf on Switch tonight.
  14. Yeah, I’m fairly familiar with the timeline, given my husband’s fandom. I've actually slowed down a lot with my game buying as of late. And the earlier games are actually appealing to me.
  15. I guess I was for a long while, but I think it’s more because reading took over as my primary hobby. But I’ve been consistently playing games again and enjoying it quite a bit.
  16. I plan to get those down the line, but I really need to play what I have first.
  17. My husband is a big fan of the series, so he got me to try it. I already own Origins, Oath in Felghana, and Ark of Napishtim on Steam. I reinstalled them, just need to decide which one I want to try next. Leaning toward Napishtim.
  18. I need to play more of this series. I've only played the first two on PC.
  19. Current fiction: The Outsider by Stephen King Current non-fiction: The Children of Henry VIII by Alison Wier
