Thank you. I’m gonna go visit them tomorrow after I finish this shift and get some sleep. That way I’ll be there for her appointment Monday morning.

I should finish Christine today. It's been really good. Also started Ninteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult on my Kindle. It's not my usual sort of read, but I was in the mood for a dramatic, emotional story. Sadly still relevant today.

She called me Friday with the news she had found a lump and gone for a biopsy and the results today were as expected. It’s a ductal carcinoma and it seems they’ve caught it early, so I’m optimistic about the outcome. She sees a surgeon next Monday, so things are moving quickly. I know I’ve had a difficult relationship with my mom over the years, but hearing the word “cancer” is scary. I can’t imagine losing her. She seems to be handling it about as well as expected. Even if the prognosis is good, she’s facing losing a major part of her body and that’s a big deal. She’s also never had any surgery more major than two c-sections. I know it could be worse, but this really sucks. I haven’t slept well since Friday.

Started Dying Light 2 on PC tonight. Pretty fun.

It’s pretty spot on. Only major difference is her daughter is actually in the film and you see their relationship develop on screen. Makes sense, though, given how the book was written as a long confession by Dolores.

No, I still wear mine. Bondi are for my 12 hour work shifts and Clifton for everyday wear. Haven't had any more issues. Love my Hokas. I also wear my Bondi pair for my workouts after my shifts.

Beat Ys VI The Ark of Napishtim on PC. That was my third Ys game.

I'm not really a fan of Five Guys fries, either.

I really like Firehouse. If I want a hot sub, that’s where I go. I love their Italian. Jimmy Johns is good and that’s my go to if I need a sandwich to pick up for my work lunch. It’s not much of a detour for me. My biggest problem with them is they want to put mayo on my roast beef when I tell them not to. Really annoying if I forget to check it and go to eat hours later and there’s a glob of nasty mayo. Or I catch it before I pull away and have to waste time going back in the store to have them redo it. There’s a Subway in the cafeteria at my hospital, but I’ll stop at JJ’s before I go there.

Texas Roadhouse. Their steaks are good and the price doesn’t break the bank and I love those rolls. Just about the only chain restaurant I’ll actually volunteer going to. Other than quick foods and such. We recently got a Jersey Mike’s and that’s my new favorite sandwich place.
