  1. Fair enough. Merlin looks too young though. I didn't even catch which one was supposed to be Derfel.
  2. One of my favorite series...and that looks very meh. The cast gives me CW vibes. I'll give it a shot though.
  3. Really, really, really tired of shitty umpiring.
  4. Remember he didn't actually want to buy it. He made the deal, tried desperately to back out, but was forced into it.
  5. Manfred is the worst commissioner in American sports and if you believe the bs story that he is spinning than I’ve got some beach-front property you might be interested in purchasing.
  6. ‘The Leopard’ First Look: Netflix Reimagines Classic Novel and Promises ‘Great Artistic and Production Ambition’ (EXCLUSIVE) VARIETY.COM Netflix Italy Chief Eleonora Andreatta teases the 'artistic and productive' ambition behind upcoming high-end series 'The Leopard.' I don't know how I feel about this; The Leopard is such an incredible movie with 3 stunning movie stars (Lancaster, Cardinale, Delon) that any attempts to remake it will just seem lackluster and dim by comparison. But if it gets more people to watch the original, then that's good I guess.
  7. I don't get it either. Give me a Napoleon Cinematic Universe, with a spin-off of the Peninsular War.
  8. If you want to put a hit out on someone where you want their car rigged to blow up, then Elon is your guy.
  9. In 1863 on July 3 the United States triumphed at Gettysburg and triumphed again on July 4 at Vicksburg. That’s a hell of a way to celebrate America.
  10. I just finished it. Really good. I don’t think it’s my favorite of his but I liked it a lot. I started The Bad Lands, another Western by Oakley Hall, who wrote the incredible Warlock.
  11. June: The Naked Spur 3.5/5 Another Mann/Stewart Western. On The Waterfront 5/5 hadn’t seen it since college. I know Brando gets all the ink but Malden is my favorite. His speech about Christ and Calvary is an all-timer. The French Connection 4/5 another rewatch. Love Hackman and Scheider Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore 4/5 Love this, especially the relationship between Alice and her boy. The Banshees of Inisherin 4.5/5 I’d kill for the sweaters Colin Farrell wears. 12 Angry Men 5/5 another rewatch. Still just as good. Trying to think of another movie that boasts so many good performances, and maybe the only one I can think of is Network? JFK 4.5/5 Whew. Never seen a movie this long move so well.
  12. Centennial is now one of my favorite books of all time. Just a gorgeous portrait of the West and what went into it. The parts about how America betrayed so many treaties with Native Americans were just heartbreaking. I will want to read more by him but that will have to wait, because it’s time for: All the Sinners Bleed.
  13. Never heard of it, but sounds interesting. Added to the list. But I'm almost done with Centennial and will be reading S. A. Cosby's newest next!
  14. The only advertisers that seem to be left are crypto scams, YouTube freaks and life coaches, and AI garbage.
  15. "[L]ends at interest, and takes profit; shall he then live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon himself." Usury is against my religion. I shall not be paying back those loans.
  16. We've got Jewish space lasers that can shot down any alien spacecraft, so I'm not worried.
  17. Hell yeah. I love that one. Great show from top to finish.
