  1. Actual HDMI 2.1-standard VRR will not be able to be patched in. Freesync will. The question does become “will things that use HDMI 2.1 VRR also use non-HDMI 2.1 freesync” though. So, there is a potential “why even bother” aspect that may occur.
  2. The second TV is some sub-$400 one for when I have company over that will be used once per month at most and will never be replaced unless it literally stops working. The main set is a $2-3k purchase that won’t be replaced for 7-8 years. Why in the world would I buy a set that’s literally going to be outdated via HDMI 2.1 and, most notably, VRR, in just 8-9 months? Furthermore, I am trying to make sure my money is going to the correct set for the money. If you like to piss away thousands every few months on new TVs, good for you. Here’s a tip, if a discussion is going on that you dislike and wish to add nothing to, click on a different thread. Good luck in your future trolling.
  3. Do the raptors have AI where they actually “hunt” and use flanking/pincer tactics to take down fleeing prey? In Genesis, that was one of my favorite things: watching the raptors use actual tactics when chasing things down.
  4. It’s just a large purchase that I only make every 7-8 years so it’s smarter to future proof it as much as possible instead of pissing money away.
  5. I never once argued to the contrary! Final plans: Option A.) IF LG announces a Freesync/VRR update via firmware for their 2018 OLEDs, I’ll buy immediately. Option B.) I apparently have no use for Dolby Vision since I own nothing that supports it thus if the 2018 65” QLED drops in the low $2k range in the next 3-4 months, I’ll buy now. Option C.) If A or B do not occur by the end of October, I’m waiting for the 2019 HDMI 2.1 sets.
  6. I have a plasma. I rarely get IR and have never gotten burn-in. BUT the fear is always there, and I am constantly making sure that static images aren’t left on for too long or that if I pause something for several minutes that there will be a screen saver. Having that lifted would be nice.
  7. The videos make this seem almost like a carbon copy of the previous (and seemingly forgotten) Jurassic Park theme park game from years ago. Not that it’s a bad thing!
  8. Since this is making people re-add avatars, we’re all technically winners!
  9. QLED seems to be mostly acceptable. I’d rather go OLED but the trade off of no fear of burn-in is enticing
  10. If I didn't have a Plasma I would happily go for the Sony X9xx series. I've heard stories from Panny Plasma and Pioneer Kuro owners who went to the X9xx and XBR Sony 4ks and they immediately sold them and hooked their Plasma back up
  11. Visibility in the Camaro is absolutely awful. I would suggest looking at the new 2018+ Mustang for practicality. The updated 2018 Mustang outperforms the non-ZL1 Camaro anyway. But honestly, test drive, test drive, test drive!!! EDIT: If it's not your daily driver, then the Camaro would probably be okay, but if it's your everyday car then I highly suggest getting a good amount of time behind the wheel of one first. The visibility is VERY poor and not something I would personally want to deal with in a DD car. A used GT350 is another option in the low-$50k range.
  12. @Mr.Vic20 No, really, there are a lot of people who buy these types of cars, get bored and switch to something else and do not care about the loss through depreciation in even the slightest. It's mind-boggling. If I didn't want a very specific set of options for my 2019 Mustang GT, I'd just look for a low-mileage used one and grab one that already depreciated
  13. People with money are insane. They probably regretted not getting the blue one or something. I'm being serious.
  14. @Dodger And I know you don't like used but... barely 6k miles and under $50k, single owner and under warranty: https://www.carmax.com/car/15768304
  15. Audi S4. Affordable as it's like $50k less than a E63 (the S4 goes for $53-62k pending on options). It's fast (Audi advertises a 4.4sec 0-60 but most people get 4.0-4.2). It's AWD so it's fine in bad weather. It has 4 doors.
  16. My fiancé’s parents new 2018 Explorer that I found for them (used with 700 miles): The interior and features honestly crap on the 2018 Audi Q7s that were there (which cost $22k more... also used... with 2k more miles)
  17. What’s your budget? RWD, AWD? Auto, DC, Manual? New, used? Brand preference? Speed preference?
  18. Hmmm SO I THINK what I may do is jump on a 65” Q9FN if I see the price drop below $2.3k, otherwise I’ll just wait for HDMI 2.1 OLEDs. I really want to go 75” or larger but two things are stopping me: my entertainment center is one with a built-in mount, and it looks like the largest it can fit is a 65”, and seemingly any replacement also has a 65” limitation for whatever reason. The other thing that is stopping me... the price difference is INSANE. The OLEDs jump up by over $5k to around $9k for the 77”, and the QLED jumps to around $6k for a 75”... the F!?!?
  19. This is a different deal than what was originally posted in my other thread. I decided to wait for 2019 models as I rarely upgrade my TV and should wait for HDMI 2.1 next year. These deals do not last long, whatever eBay lists as the expected arrival time is usually pretty accurate so I would suggest not waiting.
