Yes, because nVidia chooses not to support Freesync and only Gsync. The problem being, as I mentioned in my post, the VRR standard for HDMI 2.1 will not be GSync and likely is more akin to Freesync. nVidia very much needs to embrace whatever the HDMI 2.1 standard for VRR is, or many gamers may bail for a different brand. I very much want a new VRR 4k HDR monitor, and I can get a Freesync one for $400. GSync? Cheapest (and only) option is $2000 which is several hundred more than I paid for my 65” LG OLED 4k HDR TV.

It’s refurbished by LG, the issues you’re mentioning tend to occur with in-house refurbished items (ie: if Walmart tried to fix and resell these themselves). When it’s manufacturer refurbished they completely replace any damaged part of the item (ie: if there’s burn-in then the entire panel is replaced for a new one). I would never buy an in-house refurbished item.

What year/model is your 55"? If it's a 2016 model I would say "DO IT" since the anti-burn-in tech on the 2017/2018 is supposedly leaps and bounds better by comparison... though, I'd say "DO IT" if your current is a 2017 too since those 10 inches make a world of difference.

It's refurbed by LG, not used, so it's as good as new. Big difference between used vs refurbished; on a manufacturer refurb, they replace everything/anything that's damaged or not working and also include a mini-warranty.

BTW - This is the same panel/bezel of the B7A (which is $2.3k refurbished) but has the superior sound of the C7A - so, it sits in between the two (same PQ on all 3, the C7 just has a black trim and the aforementioned soundbar attached - they all have the same panel/processor/etc ).

Ethanol is a terrible gasoline replacement whether it's sugar or corn. A car running E85 (via a tune if the engine is E85 ready, which is typically 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline) will get ~70-80% of the mpg of gasoline... and it costs more per gallon (without subsidies). Electric vehicles are certainly the future and where money should be invested.

The term "fake" has a much harsher connotation than this site should be using as in the description it does tell you whether or not it looks good too. For example, it lists Disney's Coco as "Fake 4k" BUT states: And for Thor: Ragnarok: So, it does at least state whether or not the "fake 4k" is still a good/worthwhile transfer. I just think that "fake" is a more offputting term than they should be using.

I greatly enjoyed my rental of "Game Night" in UHD Dolby Vision. It doesn't have a lot of "OMG" scenes, but low-lighting in the movie definitely shows the capable differences in the way the actors are lit in scenes in regards to fade and shadows... Plus, OMFG is that movie funny. BTW, @Mercury33 , I'm guessing the rental info I found prior in this thread is outdated as UHD rentals on Vudu are the same price as HD; just $5.99 for new movies in 4k Dolby Vision, and some are cheaper (ie: Thor Ragnarok is just $2.99 right now in UHD DV).

I have Cortana disabled and still use the OG commands. Cortana is made to compete with Alexa for home integration/control so I still have no idea how the comparison could possibly be “silly” when Cortana was made to be compared to Alexa/Siri/Google Home Assistant and the original Kinect commands were basically just a beta version of Cortana.

It’s not a silly comparison at all. The cube is literally made to do the same thing the One’s Kinect already did and does, it just also integrates with Alexa. The reviews for the cube speak solely about the TV functionality and is the only thing being gushed over.

I think the most amazing thing about all this is the fact that people bitched and moaned about the TV/device control for the Xbone to the point that MS rolled down to just basic support (which is still more efficient than using a remote control), but now Amazon does the same thing with the Fire Cube and reviewers/people are gushing over it claiming it’s one of the “best innovations for device control ever”... when MS literally had the same “innovation” 5 years ago.

Check that link, you have several 4k channels available, as well as UFC Fights, MLB, concerts, etc. I really cannot understand the omission considering their hype that the X is “the” 4k console. The addition of an HDMI 2.0 compliant input would be pennies more and make the console “fully” 4k.
