From the sounds of it he's mostly worried about more grounded issues like misinformation, propaganda, and irresponsible or malicious actors using AI. These are appropriate concerns and Google is a bad place to be if you care about those things (or you'll just get fired.)

I suspect for people closer to the ground floor, the answer is yes, and they're probably trying very hard to make it so despite other logistical nightmares imposed upon them. Getting rid of twitter would be a very small step along that path.

To be fair, variable 40-50 FPS is worse than a locked 30 FPS because of the god awful micro stutter*, even with VRR IMO. But it's always trivial to vsync to 30 if you can do >40, so we're back to this not being a reason to go console instead. *Locked 40hz on a compatible display is solid though
