Like if it was just a thread title, pinned, without the other information and like the row is half the width? If it was pinned like that I don't think the view would be too offensive.

It's necessary to keep them pinned because they aren't pinned because they are supposed to be a subforum they are pinned because they are the ongoing popular thread of the forum and pinning it makes it easy to find. Unpinning something like the listening to thread immediately makes it buried.
