  1. Yeah, I think we're saying the same thing here. Sanctions and pokes were an uncomfortable equilibrium. I'm sure there were plenty in the Iranian government and our own that were holding our breath waiting to see what came of the 2020 election. Trump's move here just throws all of that out the window.
  2. That means absolutely nothing here. The only reason that was even necessary was because Trump is always in an undo everything Obama did mood. Also, Democratic leadership, especially in the Senate, is incredibly stupid. That all said, it still means nothing. Sanctions and retaliatory feeble pokes in return were acceptably within what I'd call reasonable expectations. This move goes far beyond any of that and there's no reason not to believe it could lead to escalating action.
  3. They very much were not that many years ago. Following that, the extent of their actions were within what most would deem, acceptable control. Since Trump decided to increase tensions with Iran for purely anti-Obama reasons, they've feebly poked the US through proxies in response. This just opened everything up in a very public way.
  4. Exactly this. Trump has moved the choice to further escalate tensions squarely in Iran's hands. It's out of our control what happens next. They have full reason to retaliate and I can't imagine a scenario where they do and Trump doesn't do the same in return.
  5. This thinking, however, relies on Iran being the pragmatic one and ignoring this assassination. In any other administration, this would be no different than a declaration of war.
  6. Why not? I'm sure Trump has seen at least one person say Americans prefer to not change Commander in Chiefs in the middle of a war.
  7. I'm all for weekly episodes and I think I said as much when this series was first announced. I don't have the time to binge a series like this so there's absolutely no ongoing discussion for me. I also think there's something to be said about a series being event material. If Netflix really wants to have their own GoT that becomes a serious cultural phenomenon, they'd have to do some experimenting here. Whole series at once just isn't going to generate ongoing conversation with the majority of folks.
  8. If people are upset with the camera in Sunshine, that should make Mario 64 completely unplayable. Sunshine's camera is miles better than 64's. It's not as good as Odyssey's camera, but that's also much later after years of Nintendo avoiding sandbox Mario 3D platformers.
  9. Unfortunately, Advanced Wars never got it Fire Emblem: Awakening moment. After that, add Excitebike to the long list of racing franchises Nintendo doesn't care about.
  10. I would have thrown my TV out the window were that to happen. Star Wars is dealing with an entire universe. The problem with every Star Wars movie since the original trilogy has been about how small the universe seems to be. Forget about six degrees of separation. All the major live action Star Wars have been about two degrees of separation from a Skywalker. I'll be equally as upset if we find out the child is like Yoda's nephew or some bullshit like that.
  11. As soon as we see another Waverace or 1080 or FZero. Nintendo would likely remaster the Galaxy games before Sunshine. I'm actually not sure why the GCN didn't get more if its games remastered considering it meet a similar date to the Wii U. I would totally buy a remaster of any of those Nintendo-published racing games. It's just a shame that Nintendo didn't seem to care about any of its racing franchises outside of Mario Kart.
  12. George Lucas has a habit of wanting to keep the wrong things a mystery. It's inconsequential to know the background of Yoda's species. The science behind the force? Yeah, that's the sort of thing better kept as a mystery.
  13. That's probably true, but I don't think there's any evidence to suggest it's because Nintendo doesn't want the games on their console. Chinatown Wars only happened because Nintendo didn't want a kid friendly version of GTA.
  14. I think that article clearly states Nintendo didn't want a watered down GTA on their consoles.
  15. The Switch has really given me a chance to play more than I had in previous years with my kids running around. I can't even remember the last time I had a chance to turn on my gaming PC and play something. That said, it also lead to my 4yo asking me to buy him a Switch Lite for his birthday. Now all he wants to do is play Mario World and Super Metroid. Now, let's see... First game; March 3, 2017 - Shovel Knight Treasure Trove Most played games this year: Dragon Quest XI S, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Hollow Knight, Pokemon Sword, Astral Chain This year wound up being 457hr over 39 different games. You played for 68 hours in January You played for 12 hours in February You played for 34 hours in March You played for 9 hours in April You played for 0 hours in May You played for 4 hours in June You played for 31 hours in July You played for 71 hours in August You played for 32 hours in September You played for 115 hours in October You played for 53 hours in November I'm not sure what was going on in October that I wound up with so much gaming time.
  16. That last bit makes WAY more sense, aiming it's true. The only other way this makes sense is if the Snyder Cut is destined to be an HBO Max launch exclusive.
  17. I already knew his cut with all the necessary filming was complete, but the CG also being complete is a huge what for me. Maybe I'm just missing something here, but once the filming, CG, and editing on a film is done, what would be left to have WB call in another director to "complete" there movie?
  18. What? Are we saying that his cut of the movie was...complete? How? What? How is the CG work for his cut complete? Why would it be? Just...what?
  19. Two weeks of jail and three years of probation seems fine for a first time offender while crazy drunk. I don't think most people would get a reasonable sentence here, but that doesn't mean everyone should get unreasonable sentences. That all said, yeah, going back to work is just crazy. Here's video of a guy hurling racial slurs at a black family after breaking into their house. That guy could work at a factory and he would be fired when folks on social media start tagging their CEO and marketing team.
  20. That song charted pretty well which moved people that liked the song into theaters. Nobody outside of Cats fans likes any of the music in Cats. I can't see any scenario where a clip from Cats is going up on YouTube and changing folks' perception of the movie.
  21. I'm almost 100% positive that if the CG were reversed, the hate this movie is getting would be far less. That is, practical costumes and CG sets rather than the crazy idea of going with CG costumes and practical sets.
  22. The response to anything like that should be Mike Pence. Nobody is talking about impeaching Pence. He would be president were Trump to be removed from office. There is no Christian on the face of this planet who should believe that Trump is a more religious man that Mike Pence.
  23. Eglee's reps did set the record straight and want everyone to know he was not born in Connecticut, though. So check mate. No comment on any of the stuff that actually matters.
  24. @TwinIon I think this list isn't going off of any numbers and is just going off the combined, monthly/weekly, averages for top grossing applications and games from the Play and App stores. That is, if you jump onto the Google Play store right now, the top five grossing apps are Google One, Pandora, ESPN, Tinder, and DIsney+. Top grossing games being Clash of Clans, Dandy Crush Saga, COin Master, Pokemon Go, and Gardenscapes. I don't know how and where Apple reports it, but Google makes this stuff pretty easy to pull up. Also, Pandora is number 2 in the play store right now? ESPN is number 3? Either way, I think Google includes ad revenue in their grossing numbers.
