The Official Thread of Systemic Racism

You mean bankrupt the city? Police departments don't cover the bill for those lawsuits. -

Riots are breaking out anywhere police are escalating. There are peaceful protests anywhere the police aren't. There have also been WAY too many examples today if out of control police attacking the press. None of that has anything to do with racial attacks against civilians. -
Since this is getting bumped I'm going to recommend two not at all gaming channels, but are presented as gaming channels. Tier Zoo The channel basically presents itself as a game analysis channel for the real world. Foolish Baseball Similar to the ones one, but for baseball. I love this channel so much and it's criminal he doesn't have more subscribers.

But don't worry. They can't be evicted while the pandemic is still ongoing. Worry not, though, once this is all over everyone will just be up their eyeballs in back rent and utilities. That's when they'll be evicted and unable to reconnect utilities at their next home because they still owe thousands from they're previous address. -
The Official Thread of Systemic Racism

This is happening because it's on top of the horrible handling of the coronavirus. You already had an unhappy populace that doesn't believe the state cares about their well being and then you get to watch an agent of the state slowly murder a man on camera for absolutely no reason while other agents of the state watch and make sure the crowds filming don't intervene. It's already the end of May, Congress can't even decide if the people need a second round of stimulus when more and more are losing their jobs everyday. It was only a matter of time until the riots started forming. Watching an execution by knee just hurried the response along. -

The state murdered a man without reason on video for the world to see. The same state that isn't properly providing for people during a time when huge swaths are unemployed, sick, dead, and just not getting the assistance they need to reduce those everyday stresses everyone is feeling. Oh, and it's also lying about how many people are dying. At the exact time, the president is baselessly calling a journalist a murderer against the plees if the deceased's family and retweeting a video saying the only good Democrat is a dead one to the cheers of conservatives. By state here, I'm just referring to government in general. So yeah, people probably have a good reason to riot and loot and I'm shocked it even took this long to happen. Anyone not expecting some looting and rioting to happen under Trump's pandemic response is crazy. It might not all technically be related, but that's just a semantic argument this many months in. -
Doesn't 230 protections just mean that either sites need to be heavily moderated to protect the owners of the site from potential lawsuits or not at all moderated for the same reason? Someone correct be here, but I don't see how this would protect free speech. Twitter isn't going to just allow literal Nazis to take over their platform, so this is just going to result in ramped up and extreme moderation. Trump would be along the first to get kicked off.

Someone that knows better than I should feel free to correct me. Unless I'm mistaken, that's exactly what we don't know. If the antibodies you have wear out over the course of a few months, then there is no long term immunity to COVID-19. Measles isn't a lifelong vaccine and you need booster shots every so often to stay good. Everything I've read says that we don't know what levels people need of COVID-19 antibodies to know whether or not they're safe from infection or how long the antibodies stick around.
-
There also doesn't seem to be much info on how much antibodies actually means anything, so just having antibodies doesn't necessarily mean a person won't get sick later. Until that's known, it's fine for tracing exposure, but it doesn't do anything as far as telling us which people are good to mingle and which people are still susceptible to infection.

Yeah, my company has been kind enough to understand there may be a small drop in productivity due to having to split time with taking care if the kids. My wife hasn't been nearly as easy. She's been moved to telehealth work and she's expected to 100% dedicate herself to 3-5 hours of uninterrupted video work. If I were stuck going into the office, one of us would be out of a job.

That sounds tempting, but I'd still rather find out how good the extra content is. One thing that would REALLY be stress about this series for anyone on the fence. Anyone with gamer, completionist OCD may have a very hard time with these games. They're just filled to the brim with pointless MMO-style side quests that don't do anything for the story. They're all completely optional unless your desperately need some random material or doodad that's also completely optional. XCX is the worst offender of the bunch here, but XC is pretty bad about it as well. It was also brutal on the Wii, but I do believe there were some nice QoL improvements introduced on the 3DS and Switch. XC2 handled its side quests way better than any other in the series, but even it was still filled with pointless stuff that will drive some peoples' OCD crazy.

Television HBO Max launch date 5/27
Ghost_MH replied to Emblazon's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
I jumped on this mainly for the Studio Ghibli stuff, but it's also a it good collection. I was already paying $10 for HBO, so it's just an extra $5 for me with a bunch of stuff on top of it. There aren't too many exclusives right now, but I did catch an episode of one and I'll say Elmo's talk show is painfully cute.
