Ha, that happened to me like a year back. My wife is now convinced this site is populated by nothing but degenerates and assholes. She's not entirely wrong.

There are so many of them from Puerto Rico. Many of the boomer generation don't really understand how they're treated as second class citizens while also not understanding how nice and easy it is for them and their families to move to the mainland compared to the rest of Latin America.

I sometimes wonder how this is going to affect views on gun laws for future generations. Are the kids that are put through this trauma today going to do what it actually takes to affect change on this society and keep their kids from going through the same? I hope they do, but I also know there is probably a large number of kids being indoctrinated into believing this is just how things have to be.

If Jacob Blake made a career of claiming there was no such thing as systemic racism and BLM is just a bunch of attention whores to an audience of a hundred million across the country... It's still a terrible thing, but how should we treat the people that voted for face eating leopards, got they're faces eaten, and swear they wouldn't change a thing?

I'm totally buying one for my son for Christmas. I'll also be stuck buying one for myself since I can't just let him play alone. I'm not some monster.

It's possible to think the world would be a better place if she hadn't gone experienced such harassment while also not shedding a tear over the harassment she endured. Things aren't always so black and white. If she quit and joined the Lincoln Project because experiencing first hand harassment from Trump opened her eyes, then yeah. Good on her. Until then, she hasn't really done anything to garner any real sympathy.

Here's a move that is sure to engender Apple with the EU in regards to their antitrust case. Apple is going to switch user tracking for ads in iOS to opt-in for everyone but themselves. Here's The Verge's summary of what's going on here. This move will, magically, make Apple's own advertising network far more lucrative for app developers than anyone else's advertising network on iOS. Here is my shocked face.

My guess is the idea of sundown towns and public lynchings. Why allow anyone to kill off your undesirables in public settings that need to be cleaned up when you can kill them out of the public eye with the utmost German efficiency.

This reminds me of my cousin. He found a house in a very white neighborhood. He wouldn't be shown the house unless he was pre-approved. When he was, they showed him the house, but also jacked up the price $50k above market value. He really wanted the house in that neighborhood, so he brought the real estate agent a new pre-approval to cover the additional $50k. The sellers wound up deciding they'd go a different direction with the house. That's what they told him, at least. It's still on the market with no pending sale or anything. It's been more than a month now. Just tossing extra cash out the window to spite themselves over the scary brown man with the bad English.

Keeping blacks and other minorities out of white neighborhoods was literally legal when MY parents first tried to become home owners. There is no reason to think there is anything free of unequal treatment.

I can see Nintendo adding 4k scaling to a new Switch. Right now TVs have to handle the scaling from whatever res a game is running up to 4k. Native rendering at 4k might be possible for very simplistic games. Mario 64 at 4k, here we come.

Yes, both. Apple was going to block UE development on macOS and iOS. Epic had just released a new face tracking tool for iOS, too.

Again, Apple is giving themselves more trouble by messing with Epic's ability to support apps on macOS. If Epic were to win this, I can't see how a part of it wouldn't come down to this nice by Apple. That said, I'm not at all convinced Epic will win their car against Google. Even if Google got in the way of Epic's dealings with other phone manufacturers, I could see a scenario where Google would no longer be allowed to do that, but still be allowed their 30% cut.
