Blame there goes to these companies being developed and run by white guys. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Twitch, YouTube, Microsoft, Valve, Discord. All these social media and game companies have done an absolute shit job of taking complaints of harassment seriously and have allowed racist/misogynist/homophobic/etc slurs and abuse to fester far too long on their platforms. I've said it before, the only reason they let this stuff go on is for fear of upsetting other white guys just like them. Anyone that wants to talk about regulation needs to just force these companies to protect their users from abuse. It's 2021 and people still have to deal with death threats on Twitter and rape threats on Twitch. Meanwhile, I upload a videoclip on YouTube with a song in the background that sort of sounds like some other song and I get hit with a content match in like ten seconds.

If you really want to split them up, the real split would be... Google: Android/Services, AdSense, YouTube/Music Amazon: AWS, Shopping, Shipping, Robotics, Basics Facebook: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp That all said, a bunch of these probably don't come out clean for end users. If YouTube and AdSense were separate companies, someone is going to get the bill for the extra layer and that'll likely be creators. Google is a bit odd here because they pretty much funnel everything through AdSense for monetization. Services like Gmail and Search likely won't survive as is without boosted revenue from AdSense being internal. Android could likely survive on its own from its cut a Play Store revenue. Facebook without Instagram and WhatsApp is still a mess of a company and its ad platform couldn't survive without being an internal resource. What makes Facebook suck is Facebook and being controlled by one humanoid thing. Facebook should never have been allowed to acquire WhatsApp and Instagram. Amazon's problems are also tricky. That split would likely rise prices on Amazon, but I don't think that's a real bad thing. They're ubiquitous enough that is almost impossible to compete with them. I think I've mentioned it around here before, but the best bet for Amazon is to prohibit then from knocking off their third party sellers. That your can put up a pair of shoes for sale and then have Amazon see how popular they are and provide they're own knockoff version that comes up at the top of the search results is egregious and gross. Also, yes, this is a thing Amazon does ALL THE TIME. Never buy anything Amazon brand. I actually like this style for King of Fighters. It reminds me of their character artwork for the 90s games and that's when the series peaked for me. That or it was from my memories of the arcade and PS1 ports in highschool. The artwork Shinkiro did for KoF 95 and 99 was superb and I'd prefer that in 3D over the stuff coming out of SNK when Nona and then Falcoon took over.

I have yet to watch the new Lupin movie, but the animation of that one is spot on. At least in the trailer and short clips I've seen. They worked with Marza for the CG there and those guys have been doing CG anime for close to a decade now. I think Ghibli's issue here might be that they're new at this and went in alone. Ronja was a little rough, but they should have stuck with Polygon Pictures for the production Earwig and the Witch. The thing is, I really like the character designs and I think they translate to CG pretty well. The problem is that Ghibli's worlds breath life in every frame and that's what's missing from these clips. That's really hard to do in CG, mind you. I can't think of any studios outside of Pixar that are there. Disney great, but even they fall short here. Disney hasn't put anything as dynamic on screen at the Land of the Dead in Coco or the fairgrounds in Toy Story 4. Outside of the Disney bubble, the last time the animation in a CG film really blew me away was...the chase scene in Tintin? It's an uphill battle, for sure, but I think Ghibli would have been better off producing a few more TV series, shorts, or just working with others before going into a feature film alone. I guess we'll see if trailers are any indication. Could still be a great movie even if the animation is lacking. Goro Miyazaki isn't exactly batting 1.000 like his dad, but there's hope I guess.
