In an epic data breach, hackers claim to have taken 2.9 billion personal records from National Public Data. Most of the data are leaked online.

About four months after a notorious hacking group claimed to have stolen an extraordinary amount of sensitive personal information from a major data broker, a member of the group has reportedly released most of it for free on an online marketplace for stolen personal data.

 

The breach, which includes Social Security numbers and other sensitive data, could power a raft of identity theft, fraud and other crimes, said Teresa Murray, consumer watchdog director for the U.S. Public Information Research Group.

This data leak is large, but is it legit?

However, apparently 80%+ of this data was already previously hacked and released, so might not have a giant impact.

Ukraine may have captured over 2,000 Russian POWs so far in their incursion.

Sounds like the VP debate is set for Oct 1.

Halsin being a bear. I remember seeing the goblins harass the bear, and the game gives you a choice of who to help and then I think only a few choice options to make a determination. I thought, "Yeah fuck that, stop messing with the bear." Then I thought it was cool that the bear didn't attack me. Then you find out it's Halsin. I'm like, "wtf I could have killed Halsin or let them kill Halsin?!?!" I don't know if leaving bear-Halsin there leads to his death or not or if he breaks out anyway, but it was very interesting to me that I had no idea I was recruiting Halsin by protecting the bear; it just seemed like the right thing to do.

 

I think maybe you still can, but it moves SH's approval down a bit, so harder.

Yeah, the Halsin bit was cool on the first playthrough!

Ahhhhh! Okay, yeah I remember now. I remember thinking it was crazy that you could do stuff for her instead of helping the folks at the grove. I had no idea she would end up being a party member for you as well.

In my case I saved the grove in order to romance Shadowheart, but I knocked out Minthara in the camp so that she missed the big battle. Then she shows up in Act 2 in Moonrise Tower, and you save and recruit her. She has great dialogue and quips in Act 3.

I'm RIGHT before the Elder Brain mission and I can't put my finger on her.

That's Minthara! She's the Drow leader of the Goblins in Act 1. You can recruit her and romance her on evil or good playthroughs (though it's trickier on good).

Last night Ukraine attacked three airfields in Russia, one as far as 500 miles in, with at least 117 drones. Largest drone attack by Ukraine so far, it seems, and quite deep into Russia. Locals in Russia complained that most drones weren't even shot at—it appears that Russia does not have sufficient air defense in depth, especially for low-flying drones.

Belarus confirmed today that Russia has requested equipment from them, to be sent to Kursk, as Russia is having issues getting their own equipment there.

Something pointed out online is that Ukrainian special forces are almost certainly taking this opportunity to smuggle equipment and explosives across the border, to get deeper into Russia on civilian vehicles.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, in which he was informed about the offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

Ukraine claims to control about 1,000 square kilometers of Kursk.

Sounds like expected 180,000 displaced Russian refugees. Hard to hide that kind of movement from the public.
