Man, America has given up World Leader status without a fight, sad

No, the GOP has. They are fine with allowing pretty much anything to occur to the US if it means they can be in power and then make money off of that power.

Here's an honest solution: Make it so that governing Senators and Congressmen get paid a reduced amount, and opposition elected officials get paid $20,000,000 a year. Then they will be happy to sit there and get rich while the other side actually governs.

  2. Being afraid of the end-game of a group and allowing it to prevent you from implementing any of their goals is basically cowardice. The US needs more socialism. Does it need end-game socialism? Probably not. But it needs democratic socialism like Canada or to an even greater extend the Scandinavian countries. Those nations haven't slid into Marxism.

So... what the fuck? Pedophilia is funny to some people?  I get that it's not real, but what's the fucking point? Why do these guys insist on doing shit like this?

Everything is funny in the right context. Hell, there are some good 9/11 jokes out there, including my favorite knock knock joke. I would never tell them directly to victims of 9/11, but if they sought them out and found them themselves, I would hope my life wouldn't be ruined. Humor is only humor because it pushes limits.

Those things don't have to be at odds... the collective is made up of individuals.

Everyone would prefer to drive a car (or at least the majority), but that is bad for society, and it would be better if everyone took the bus or train. There are many other examples where the good of the collective is contrary to the wants or good of the individual.

    @b_m_b_m_b_m - I see!

So the Administration would have to essentially get the court overturn to that portion of the Clean Air Act...or even the entire Act as a whole.

Edit: I suppose the ICC could form the basis for that argument?

As I understand it, Trump wants to revoke CA's waiver, but legal experts have said that he can't because he would be targeting a specific state and the CAA has no test for allowing/disallowing specific waivers. So the only way around this is to basically try and overturn the CAA itself, which is mad.

According to an email sent to Raw Story Friday afternoon by Matthew Harrigan — Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at The Home Depot — Maurice Rucker has been offered his job back.

In the email, Harrigan wrote: ” I’m reaching out from The Home Depot to provide an update regarding Maurice Rucker. We’ve taken another look at this and we are offering Maurice his job back. Would you mind updating your story?

    That was quick!

The Times-Union reports that Maurice Rucker, 60-year-old black man, was let go from a job he’s held for 10 years—making $13 an hour—because he politely asked a customer to leash his dog in the store.

“I said to him, “Sir, when you have your dog in here we prefer that you keep it on a leash,'” according to the Times-Union.

He turned around and said, ‘F**k you. You’re an a*****e you’re a piece of s**t,'” Rucker said.

He says, ‘If Trump wasn’t president, you wouldn’t even have a job.’ He said, ‘You’re from the ghetto, what do you know?'”

After the relentless barrage of insults, Rucker shot back.

“‘You’re lucky I’m at work, because if I wasn’t, this wouldn’t be happening, or you wouldn’t be talking to me like this,'” Rucker told the Times Union.

Home Depot, which had not given Rucker a sizable raise during his decade of service, told the paper that they were sorry their employee was subject to racist abuse, but that he was nevertheless in the wrong.

Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer, confirmed in a telephone conversation on Friday that Mr. Trump had discussed the payments with Mr. Cohen on the tape but said the payment was ultimately never made. He said the recording was less than two minutes and demonstrated that the president had done nothing wrong.

"You see, my client offered to pay her $200,000, but the deal never went through. It is purely coincidental that his lawyer ended up paying her $200,000 and that my client then paid his lawyer $200,000. This proves my client's innocence."
