The Justice Department today announced the seizure of two domain names and the search of 968 social media accounts used by Russian actors to create an AI-enhanced social media bot farm that spread disinformation in the United States and abroad.

US DOJ, along with Canadian and Dutch counterparts, have shut down a 1000 twitter bot net run by the Russian government aimed at spreading unrest in the west.

US military bases across Europe were placed on a heightened state of alert last week for the first time in a decade after the US received intelligence that Russian-backed actors were considering carrying out sabotage attacks against US military personnel and facilities, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

    And six missiles...

    I'm just completely speechless.

They do it all the time because there is no punishment. Think back to Syria, when they were destroying Alepo. The UN begged for an aid convoy. Eventually Russia agreed...and then attacked the convoy. The SAME thing happened with Donetsk in Ukraine!

There is a piece of wisdom about Russia: don't let them know where you hospitals are, your schools, your children's centres, because they will target them. And don't let the UN or the Red Cross know, because they always pass the information to Russia (Red Cross has passed info in this current war).

Obviously we need to see the seat-by-seat breakdown, but overall this is fantastic news. The fact that the left-wing and centrist parties were basically able to voluntarily withdraw their candidates in tight races to prevent the far-right from winning is heartening.

The former heart surgeon has beaten his hardline conservative rival Saeed Jalili.

After the helicopter crash that killed the previous hardliner President, Pezeshkian has won on a reformist campaign. However, it's important to keep in mind that while the Iranian President does exercise some authority and power, the real power lies with Ayatollah Khamenei.

The transition has completed and Starmer is officially the new Prime Minister.

Also, Sinn Féin is now the largest party in Northern Ireland by both vote share and number of MPs.  This means that a not-insignificant number of Protestants voted for the party.

It must shock some Americans how fast other countries are able to transition to new governments, and not need months.

Don’t sleep on painting. $800 for a sprayer, good brushes, painters tarp, and then find some day labor to do the work.

White people LOVE getting their stuff painted, and my guys don’t care about American holidays.

And...you don't care about paying them 1.5x or 2x on a stat holiday? Or you are paying them that already?

EDIT - I just assume this from your wording of them not caring about American holidays, which to me implies they don't mind working for regular rates compared to most people which need to be paid 1.5x or 2x for stat work.

Look man, only a couple people here know it, but I switched careers two months ago because new management wanted me to do something I straight up didn't want to do. They were awful and I have an attorney representing me against them at the moment.

I was lucky that I had a job the next week; not everyone gets that opportunity. But the experience taught me that, sometimes, being severed, laid off, unwanted, etc., at an old job can be a blessing because if you're well-meaning and doing the work, then there is something seriously wrong with the management/ownership who didn't want you. Take Spork's advice, have your resume, and apply apply apply. It's good that you're thinking of your cat, but the solution isn't giving him away; it's getting yourself back on two feet so he can walk on all fours with a roof over his head.

Also, I'm sure if @marioandsonic wants help, he can post stuff in the community thread and people can give advice on the resume, etc. I'd gladly take a look!

I still really don't understand the "Kamala is unlikable" thing. Well, you know who is more unlikable? Donald Trump.

Is not voting for her better than having Trump win? This is really nonsense thinking.

Men don't like woman leaders, and a decent chunk of white women don't like woman leaders. Yes, yes, "not all" men, but it's a pretty solid truth.

Washington may soon reconsider its previous decision and allow Kyiv to use U.S.-made weapons to strike targets up to 300 kilometers inside Russia. — Ukrinform.

Good. And I hope with the US election not looking so great at the moment, that Biden just dumps everything on Ukraine this fall, rather than trickling out over the next 2-years as planned.
