  1. I think Trump is truly different. I've heard people say "I'm not a Republican, I'm a Trumper". This is allegiance to a person, and eventually a family like America has never seen.
  2. Pete Buttigieg 38,699 26.7% Bernie Sanders 37,999 24.4% 84.82%* of precincts reporting (1,497 / 1,765) https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/iowa/?2 Bernie seems to be losing the popular vote now, unless I'm reading this wrong.
  3. It's different this time. The Trump family such as Don Jr. and Ivanka will hold sway for years to come, and they have some wealth to keep somewhat of a grip on it. At a minimum, the tribalism and populist right wing stuff related to the border and culture is going no where. Pence will only win giving reverence to the Donald. Trump has stamped that into the GOP for decades. I hope I'm wrong.
  4. There will be no post Trump era. The Trumps are going to be controlling the GOP for the foreseeable future.
  5. I don’t think Romney has any plans for being president. The senate is where he plans to make his case against Trumpism. He will pick his battles, but I think his entire reason for being a senator is to have some position of power to make Trump’s life miserable.
  6. Yeah, I think I can agree with that. Most voters are pretty inconsistent and personality and popularity seem to matter more to a lot of people than ideology. I personally believe Biden is going to end up being the nominee, so I don't think we'll find out what people actually end up doing if Biden falls off early.
  7. I can agree with that. I recall seeing some polls showing that. I don’t believe that will be what people end up doing, but that’s just baseless speculation on my part.
  8. Where will Biden and Klobuchar supporters go if their candidacies fizzle out? Will they go to Bloomberg or Buttigieg? Edit: I think Warren has a good chance of picking some of them up too. I'm really skeptical that they will jump to Sanders.
  9. Fair enough. I don't have any live TV, but just looking around google news, Bernie is getting plenty of attention from mainstream outlets. Edit: As an example Politico's headline is Bernie & Butti are locked in a close race and Fox News has a pic of both of them with the title of "Front Runners".
  10. What are you even talking about? Bernie is splashed all over the place. If Bernie doesn’t get more older people on board, he isn’t viable either.
  11. Butti's positions are clearly to the left of Biden or Klobuchar on several issues. You often complain about Biden's marijuana position. Butti supports national descheduling. He also supports decriminalizing the possession of all drugs. I know people hate him here, but he is much better on criminal justice than the other centrist candidates.
  12. In Iowa I remember seeing several polls where the top 4 were in statistical dead head or with different leaders in the last 3 weeks. It seemed like anyone's guess what would happen in Iowa.
  13. I'm going to list some stuff that may not be released in 2020 or may be cancelled, but whatever. TV: Star Trek: Picard Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 The Stand mini series Haunting of Hill House Season 2 Castle Rock Season 3 (unconfirmed) Ozark Season 3 The Boys S2 Better Call Saul The Witcher Season 2 The Mandalorion Season 2 Lucifer (final season, even though the show is sub par overall) Supernatural (remaining episodes) The Expanse Season 5 Brooklyn 99 Mindhunter Season 3 (delayed or cancelled) Anne with an E Season 4 (cancelled, but I wish) Bob's Burgers Curb your Enthusiasm Stranger Things Movies: Comic book movies, but nothing I can think of off the top of my head.
  14. I can't say I'm dissatisfied with Pete doing so well. I know he will die off after this, but it was a good shot!
  15. Biden is going to do just fine. He will still probably take the nomination. The loser is the Democratic Party. Turnout in Iowa was at 2016 levels rather than 2008. Couple this with the special election in Texas and while it is insufficient to draw any firm conclusions, it certainly isn’t exciting.
  16. Scannable paper ballots please. What nonsense. Iowa should have lost their 1st status before this. Now it should be an easy choice. Just have every state vote together all the same night as it was mentioned earlier. This whole system is garbage.
  17. I'm all aboard the public transit train!! Let's blanket America with rail, light rail, buses, trams, etc.
