  1. I’ll be shocked if big Navi is as good as a 3080. AMD has pulled off some crazy things so I wouldn’t rule it out.
  2. 2022- The GOP sweeps the Senate and the House. They impeach and remove Biden and Harris and the Speaker takes over who happens to somehow be former Senator Tom Cotton. Under Cotton, DC is stripped of its new statehood. Instead 3 new states are formed that are strong republican adding 6 GOP senate seats and the House of Representatives is abolished by a SCOTUS ruling. The military can now act as a domestic police force since too many cities have defunded the police. The first step act is not only reversed, but harsher mandatory minimums are introduced. A 50 billion dollar wall is constructed at the southern border. Welfare, food stamps, and Medicaid are abolished. The US leaves the UN, NATO, and every other world organization. Welcome to our future.
  3. I plan on sticking it out with my vega 64 and 5700xt until rdna 3 and NVIDIA’s next after this. I don’t really need more power for now. When I do upgrade, I’m going to go big and stick with 1440p for more fps.
  4. What can AMD hope to do against such greatness? Nvidia really went all out this coming gen.
  5. @Emperor Diocletian II, I'm a huge fan of the art with the ending credits song.
  6. I don't see a +15 poll here: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/national/ There is a +14 from Opinium which is not a rated polling agency @538.
  7. Without the freaking out part, I'm simply waiting for more high quality polls after all the shootings and violence. I want to know if this is having an effect or not. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/national/
  8. No, I'm not concerned about the convention as much as I am about other events affecting voters. Some new polls show some indications it is tightening, regardless of what people here say. But it's unclear until more polls come in. Edited
  9. I’m waiting for some new polls in battleground states later this week and next to see where this race is at. I keep expecting Biden’s lead to vanish.
  10. My SO and I are huge fans. I used to watch it a little as a kid, then some more in college, and I binge watched tons of episodes the last three years. Check out the Tubi app for more episodes. The Joel era is my favorite, but I like them all, including the Netflix ones. We watch it regularly during these stressful times. I also enjoy rifftrax. I wish Netflix would stop cancelling stuff I like, including Anne with an E, another show no one here talks about but that deserves attention.
  11. I take comfort in everyone in this thread agreeing that Episode 2 is the worst Star Wars movie ever made.
  12. Hill House was mysterious, scary, well executed, with great characters and acting. I’ve been looking forward to this!!
  13. I don't hate her, but I also think she could do a lot better. The new trilogy was forgettable, especially The Rise of Skywalker. What a terrible ending. I like The Mandalorian and Rogue One was decent, so there's potential and it's not all terrible, but the potential is far greater than what they're making right now. Edit: It can also be difficult to talk about not caring much for the new movies without getting lumped in with bigots that dislike it for the wrong reasons.
  14. Maybe I’m being too hard on it and should give it another chance. I liked the premise.
  15. Thanks for all the recommendations everyone. I used to watch more anime several years ago, so I have thoughts on a few. Since it's been a while, I don't know if the animes I used to like would hold up to my own higher standards as TV got so much better and my heightened sensitivity to pointless misogyny developed. With that said, here are some recommendations with the understanding that I haven't seen some of this in 10+ years. Recent strong recommends: Death Note- My SO introduced me to this. She loves it and I have to agree, it's one of the best animes out there. Attack on Titan Nothing new with those 2. I think it's safe to recommend to people that don't even like anime. I have had some success with that. Other recents: Devil Man Crybaby- Mixed feelings on this, but overall I am slightly positive towards it even though the pacing was all over the place. It made an impression and it's short. It's extremely graphic though, unnecessarily so. Sword Art Online- I couldn't get past episode 14ish. It started off okay, but the pacing sucked and it's filled with tropes and pointless misogyny. It's glaring and stupid. I don't know why it's so popular unless people want to just look at animated breasts, but they can just do that on the Internet, so what's the point? Godzilla (Netflix)- I've seen the first movie. It's dark and okay so far. My brother and I watch some together when we have time. Knights of Sidonia (season 1)- It couldn't quite find its groove. I never watched the 2nd season and I think it's cancelled. Here are some older animes that I have thoughts about, not all recommendations: The Twelve Kingdoms- A cool anime no one really talks about that my brother and I watched 10+ years ago. It has a cool fantasy backdrop, but then there is no ending at all. It just stops and the show was cancelled. Rahxephon- One of the first animes I watched. I don't remember it very well except that it got me interested in watching more. Gundam- Gundam Seed was the first Gundam I watched. I enjoyed it and have watched several other series over the years, my favorite being Zeta. I think the series suffers a lot from weak, predictable characters and tropes as well as frustratingly unrealistic plots. They try too hard and fail with their political motives. Zeta>Seed>original>unicorn>wing>the rest Cowboy Bebop- It's just a good, fun anime. I like it. Neon Genesis- I haven't seen the new one, but I enjoyed the old one quite a bit. It's been a long time though. Elfen Lied- I watched it but don't remember it making a big impression on me. Berserk- Good and crazy anime I watched years ago Full Metal Alchemist- I've only seen the original, not brotherhood. I enjoyed it a lot back then. HunterxHunter- The original, I thought it was okay. Never went back though. Record of Lodoss War- Fantasy anime. I liked the old original for what it was, but it doesn't meet today's standards. The higher budget remake was weaker on story, but I remember I liked the intro on both! Vandread- A silly ecchi anime I watched many years ago. Nothing of much value here. Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199- A decent anime. Steins;Gate- Excellent anime Hellsing- Vampire anime that was meh 7 Samurai- I liked it when I watched it over 10 years ago. Gurren Lagann- Not that great I am missing tons of others that I've seen, some which I don't even remember the title to that were only 5 episodes long indie stuff. Some of the lesser known stuff is really good. I also enjoy the Persona games, but the animes aren't that great. It's not technically an anime but it is animated in that style; I strongly recommend watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. edit: Hikaru No Go- A decent anime about the ancient board game Go (which I enjoy).
  16. Trump could easily say something like that. I could also see him bringing up Biden's touching of women and girls. It all depends on how desperate he is. If Biden still has the lead as he does now by the first debate, anything is on the table. Trump will not go quietly.
  17. You're right. I should have read the article a bit better. That's disappointing. I bet the RDNA 3 chip they're referring to is for datacenters as well.
  18. https://wccftech.com/intel-xe-hpg-gaming-gpus-tsmcs-6nm-process-node/ I also noticed recently that RDNA 3 (Navi 3) from AMD is rumored to be a chiplet design. Remember this has never been done before with gaming GPUs because windows can't see more than one GPU as a single GPU and we know how bad SLI and crossfire suck. Has that changed or am I misunderstanding what they're talking about?
  19. Magazines restrictions seem to me to be the part of assault weapon bans that would be most effective in reducing the quantity of death associated with mass shootings. Too bad.
  20. https://www.npr.org/2020/08/14/902265017/poll-biden-expands-lead-a-third-of-country-says-it-wont-get-vaccinated I like the double digit lead polls!
