  1. I don’t trust turn out models this year especially given what’s happened with abortion and hopefully Dems turn out a lot more than projected. I would rather see Patrick go.
  2. A giant sticker of Ted Cruz holding Greg Abbott's pregnant belly appears in Southtown WWW.EXPRESSNEWS.COM It is unclear how long the sticker has been plastered on the side of the building or who...
  3. I’ve talked about how Beto won’t win, but no one else has a remote chance and no one else can raise the money he does. He’s closer than I thought he would be in polling!
  4. I think I would say it’s good so far. Not very good or great, but since I had the bar set so low it, I’m pleased. It’s too early to see if they continue to execute.
  5. You all are giving me hope that this is good! I probably won’t get around to it until I get back from a trip.
  6. A solid majority of Japanese citizens support nuclear power again and it appears they’re going to start building next gen reactors. Get with it Germany! It’s a mistake to not have nuclear in the mix, even if it is expensive. It is reliable power without carbon. Waste can be processed for power at next gen breeder reactors. They just have to build them.
  7. I gave in. I enjoyed it. It’s not wheel of time. I felt connected to the characters!
  8. Married Finnish PM Sanna Marin 'danced intimately' with man at club:... NYPOST.COM The firestorm over Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin's wild partying intensified Friday with a new video seemingly showing the married leader dancing intimately with a mystery man.
  9. Are there a lot of Baptists in Finland? Is dancing a scandal?
  10. I think it stuck the ending in a wonderful unexpected way, reenforcing his connection to Kim as a moderating force in his life, or at a minimum it showed that he cares deeply about what she thinks of him; it’s the only person he loves. While not a perfect episode, it was damn good. It’s not easy to end a show that is in this tier. It’s easy to fuck things up. Ozark is a recent example of a great show that has a bad ending. This ends nearly as well as shows such as Breaking Bad and The Americans, but in a different, less tragic way. It’s sad to think it’s over. I’ve been at this show a few years now
  11. If they got something out of this, they need to charge and arrest him and get control of the narrative. Otherwise this has all just fired up his base and ensured he will be POTUS again.
  12. I mentioned that Gene seems to want to get caught. He doesn’t seem to care after talking to Kim.
  13. I think Kim was the only thing holding Jimmy back from being a full on criminal cartel lawyer. Remember Jimmy thinks it’s all justified because the powers that be hold people like him down. While she enabled him in some ways, overall he looked to her approval and she moderated his actions. She started to do that less and less as she was corrupted though. Once Kim ditched him, he was all in. He had a taste of how to make some serious cash and saw a path to having the large house and whatever he wanted. Good for Kim for taking responsibility. She deserved to feel bad about everything, but she is doing the right thing now so it’s redemption in my eyes.
  14. As they approached the black suv while opening a door, an FBI agent could be heard saying to the former president ,“Watch your head sir.”
  15. Another thing to consider is this could be a multi-year turn out boom for Democrats if the issue proves durable. I am starting to think this could be a plausible outcome rather than voters forgetting about it in a few months. Even if Democrats lose in many places this mid term, the level of engagement might be permanently increased because of Dobbs which could help them into 2024 and beyond. Another interesting fact was at least one poll a week or so before the vote showed it split in the 40's with the yes votes having it slightly: The results showed that a lot of the undecideds broke no, but more importantly that the poll was unable to capture the turn out which could mean that other polls may be underestimating Democratic support around the country. Perhaps I'm stretching things a bit, but this vote provides the first good evidence of how voters really feel about abortion.
  16. Republicans have to be looking at these numbers with dread. This is a huge loser for them. The question will be if voters turn out the same way for Democratic pro choice candidates as they did for this ballot question. In any case, this shows a path. Pro choice organizations need to run ballot initiatives everywhere they can.
