I know I'm holding off on purchasing Dead Reckoning on physical as I'm hoping they'd have had a 1-2 punch dual release perhaps down the road. Now that not only it's pushed a whole year, but will have a whole other name, yeah I'm guessing that won't be a thing now. DAMMIT!

I won't presume to speak for someone who is of the heritage being depicted, if she felt a certain way about it, fair enough. I do have to say, having seen this in IMAX on Sunday, there's one scene in particular that has stuck w/ me, & that is of the opening. Seeing the elders have to almost essentially have a funeral for "the way things have always been" on the precipice of their future being wiped out by whites, that ceremony & allowance of time in which to mourn such a tragedy, even now as I write it, I'm moved to tears. To be fair, Marty himself said that initially it would have been through the eyes of Leo in the role of Plemmons' character, pivoting it to make it about all that Molly went through & seen through the lens of her & Ernest's ... tragic love, that was the best way to go about telling it in my opinion. Now, as for pacing, don't believe what many of the reviewers have said, I know I looked at my watch at both the 1/3 & 2/3 portions of the film.

Watching that FM4 review a decade+ later brought back SO MANY magnificent memories. Clarkson & the then Top Gear integration was sublime & I truly wish there was a way to incorporate he, May & Hammond in a Grand Tour type event for the new Forza but alas. Pointing out all the super nerdy niche nods of cars and coming to a damning realization that many of those in FM4 aren't or haven't been in the series since. Freaking heartbreaking to be sure. That checklist for FM4, BRILLIANT. Also, pointing out that FM4 was the last before 'Driveatars', wow that slapped me upside the head as I watched the replay in the background & remembered innumerable races set into memory and how those cars acted versus the latter iterations in the series. Fujimi Kaido, in my humble opinion, is THE best track I ever raced on in my entire time w/ the series & I shall always be a proud supporter of bringing that track back. God damn, how did we not know just how great we had it then!? In all honesty, every Forza after 4, has been measured in my head & heart against that title, and none have come close since. Heartbreaking to admit that.

I saw this earlier yesterday, I'm just about at the end of season 1 rewatch. It's cool to catch all these little things in repeat viewings that may have gone missed with prior viewings, as well as having the foresight to know where people are heading to see how those choices were motivated to begin with. I'm genuinely curious about the whole Lale/Sean thing will land after all she's gone through. Also, I have to admit, Luan is growing on me ... dare I say that I admire the bastard! Either way, this is a hell of a gripping series and I'm stoked to dive into season 3 whenever it lands in 2024!! (Hopefully first half of the year ... please!?)
