  1. I think its because as unfortunate as aspects of it are, its still launching in a better state than most big games today. This decides it for me. I'll be sitting out until I can get through some of the other big games this year. It'll be a Black Friday pick up. Maybe by then they can patch in FSR 2.0 or something. Although that's still going to be questionable upscaling from those low base resolutions.
  2. Will this make it overseas? Nintendo's track record has been good lately, but coming at the end of the Switch... I want it. Made by Good Feel.
  3. Precisely. Because it isn't a walled garden, they can't get away with it. Even if their front end had a better reputation, a price hike up to Ultimate's cost would never be taken well by PC gamers.
  4. It's probably more that Microsoft counts on Games Pass making up for hardware losses, alongside royalties. If PC Games Pass was more popular, I'd still doubt they'd charge the same as Ultimate.
  5. I believe them. They won't call their next console current gen. But in a Sega-like move, they could start into next-gen prematurely, a year or two after the Pro. Eventually that becomes their new Series S.
  6. Some thoughts: - Microsoft's console base is once again subsidizing their play for the PC market, paying +40% more a month for largely the same product. - Inflation adjusted, Games Pass Ultimate for $17 is actually the same as when it was first introduced. That much is reasonable. - Do Sony and Nintendo respond by raising their own pricing? Just as they jumped bandwagon with paid online multiplayer, I could see it happening. - For now, the comparison to Sony got a lot more interesting. Their premium tier (with garbage cloud streaming / emulation) is $10 a month with an annual subscription. Extra, with online play and the modern catalog, is closer to $8.33. It's a $100+ a year plus savings over Games Pass Ultimate (the one with online play). That begs an interesting question: what are day one 1st party releases truly worth to people?
  7. Microsoft is hiking the price of Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass - The Verge WWW.THEVERGE.COM The Xbox price hike follows warnings prices wouldn’t hold forever. No Series X price hike in US, Japan, Brazil, Chile and Columbia. Games Pass w/o multiplayer for consoles will be $10.99 instead of $9.99. Games Pass Ultimate will be increasing to $16.99 a month instead of $14.99. PC stays at $9.99.
  8. I think they win too because of it, but not by a landslide, which is also cool considering how strong this show was. 1. Nintendo 2. Microsoft + Starfield 3. Ubisoft I'm really, really excited about the Pikmin 4 stuff they showed personally. The underground was the best part of 2. And you can level up the dog? And your speed? And go out at night? And there's more 'real world' environments, even in the underground? This is exactly what the series needed.
  9. Super Mario RPG is excellent. There's so many secrets and fun bits tucked away in every corner of it. It's a "did you know you could do that?" sort of game.
  10. I'm halfway through Dark Moon on 3DS, I think I'll just finish it there.
  11. Skator Gator 3D is a decent controlling 3D platformer, but isn't really doing anything special. I wish movement itself involved the skateboard, but instead its reserved for grinding, which plays kind of like a Sonic on-rails section but more janky. As always I intend to try out all the 3d platformer stuff available. But its really slim pickings this time.
  12. I don’t really like the idea of more 3D World/Land Mario games. I mean, I’ll take them, but they’re not to the level of the others. Why not try a 3D Wario instead? Or Donkey Kong? The latter has been long rumored.
  13. 3D Mario would become like the New 2D series if they pumped them out at that rate. I like how most new 3D entries freshen up the controls and feel. That takes time.
  14. I'm cool with 3D Mario being a once, maybe twice per gen sort of thing. I do wish we'd see more 3d platformers try to compete on its level though. It didn't use to be so much to ask for.
  15. En Garde is snappy and fun. Basically Arkham combat with emphasis on parries (with a huge window), with a dash of souls and more environmental stuff.
  16. I had the En Garde demo downloaded before Next Fest started. Really need to give that one a shot from the sound of it.
  17. Oh hey, Pacific Drive is on here. EDIT: Nevermind Demo isn't up (yet).
  18. Viewfinder was pretty one of the few amazing looking games from Day of the Devs. I’m not surprised it’s great.
