  1. Beat those two, but don’t own the rest other than Lost Legacy. I’m sure Yakuza 5 is coming to a Humble Choice sometime soon. Newish SquareEnix games never go on sale beyond $30, when $20 is more of my limit for anything I would’t rush out for. But <$10 is more of my ideal. I’ll want to get the Nier games eventually, but it’ll probably be from a bargain bin at GameStop knowing the price history.
  2. All of those interest me. Control will have to wait until (someday) I have a better PC, I want to experience it no holds barred. SpongeBob would be a good family friendly option for me to play in front of the kid on occasion. I was under the impression that Before the Storm wasn't that good? Interesting. Heard there weren't any time travel mechanics, so maybe that was my excuse to never boot it up.
  3. I did make it about halfway through God of War. I own Ranganok as well, so I definitely plan to finish the first one. Especially with that 60fps patch. Last of Us, I'm not sure why I never got around to it. I guess that's a good thing with the remake out now. Only thing I question is whether to play it or watch the show first.
  4. I recently went through and sorted through my unplayed PS4/XBO era games. All the big budget, single player oriented retail stuff before the new consoles launched, plus a couple AA games thrown in the mix. There's no way I get to everything, especially with them being more of a time commitment than indies generally. We're pretty much out of cross-gen now, what games on here would you consider worth prioritizing today? Bonus, Switch / Wii U: Any last gen games you still mean to get around to yourself?
  5. https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/grime Decent looking Metroidvania, reminds me a bit of Metroid Dread in presentation.
  6. Avengers will probably be it for me this year. That's the sort of thing my Steam credit is best used for these days.
  7. More catch up. That 3 month x $7 Humble Choice deal actually ended up working really well for me. Got Ghostwire, Outer Worlds, Temtem, Yakuza 4, Spiritfarer, Curse of the Dead Gods, Remnant from the Ashes Complete, Windjammers 2, etc, for $21. Good deal. Will pick up Pikmin 4 as a second voucher game later this month.
  8. The reasons for it being ridiculous point to why it’s advantageous for Microsoft not to shy away from their leverage. Microsoft will probably win here, and the CMA’s issue largely isn’t with the console space anymore. In the long run, they’ll get to pursue what they feel makes the best business sense, like with Bethesda after it was acquired. Not all of Jim’s big fear list will happen. Some of it? It’s probable. Depends on when Phil puts his foot down.
  9. As strongly as you word it, it’s still a decision that sacrifices everything and everyone prior, because of two people feeling like the center of their world. It romanticizes it. Just think of them as two corrupt politicians in bed with each other, living their best life, because giving a shit about anyone else is hard. Another good point, which the ending does nothing to address. Not that they should have needed that moral compass. I think it has to be the intended ending if it is canon though.
  10. Everyone in this situation should be checking out this calculator here: Student Loan Forgiveness New REPAYE Calculator (2023) WWW.STUDENTLOANPLANNER.COM Want the best student loan forgiveness calculator? Compare the New REPAYE plan to existing options to find the best repayment path for you. It goes through the grunt work of telling if it's actually worth doing the new plan (New REPAYE aka SAVE). The column to pay most attention to in the results is "Present Value (Cost in Today's Dollars)" since it factors in inflation, wage increases, taxes, etc. Make sure you put in something manually for refinancing, because rates today run higher than 4%. These people also know their shit. I've listened to their podcast a bunch during the pause. Highly recommended for a neutral take on things, or just to be in awe of how needlessly complicated the whole thing is.
  11. I really, really hated the ‘good’ ending in Life is Strange. I still really like the game, but these characters truly suck as human beings. I’ve been hesitant to continue with the series because of it apparently being the canon ending.
  12. Make it variable with inflation. Then make every college student borrowing money take a primer on what that means for their future. I also don’t want colleges thinking they can charge more because the burden of interest is gone, or greatly reduced.
  13. With payments resuming I’d question that. If they have no shot outside of congress of making it stick, this futile exercise will result in people not paying down their debts faster out of hope of forgiveness, but now costing them in interest. I bet a large portion of people don’t make any payments these 12 months when they could otherwise afford it, because we Americans can be stubborn like that. Perhaps a case could be made for IDR (SAVE) being worth it for some regardless. But I sure as hell don’t trust the plan to be honored in 20 years time. One promise is already unfulfilled, what’s another?
  14. Roberts outlined the limits. No reason to think the same court would think any differently later. The grace period was probably needed, but there’s likely going to be an interest bomb for people who abstain from payments. We’ll have to see what they outline, but it certainly sounds like your balance could increase unlike in their IDR plan. 5% IDR plan was announced earlier. Going to help a lot of folks make it by, assuming it holds.
  15. The only time I’ve ever subscribed was when someone else bought me a gift card. I get more than enough library stuffers out of EGS, Prime gaming, Humble choice on occasion, etc. And I don’t play online on console anymore due to the fees.
  16. Humble Choice headliners are Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition and Temtem. Should be a solid month.
  17. My family could have benefited from 20k, nearly eliminating all our student loan debt. Or all of it, if I didn't pay my debt off in early March 2020... I still think we'd be saving 20k now, only for college to become more than proportionally expensive by the time our newborn daughter is 18. We can't afford to save for her college for several years. But paying that debt down, at a known interest rate, could be better than the risk of forgiveness ballooning costs even further two decades from now. Not to mention how it could affect housing, used cars, etc. I'm all for some forgiveness and IDR changes to help people out. But target that relief. And don't design the system for the government to leach interest off the majority of borrowers for 20 or 25 years. That normalizes stupidly high amounts of debts that colleges will be thrilled about. No one could be expected it to normally pay it off without a lucrative career, growing up rich, or paying for an extra bedroom for their parents someday.
  18. Figured a new thread would be a better place for this than the acquisition thread. Can't deny that the One consoles had one of the biggest turnarounds in the history of the medium. You get the 58M number by subtracting from the 79M combined total. For comparison, Microsoft did 84 million at their best in the 360 era.
  19. Xbox's Phil Spencer Seemingly Decided to Make All ZeniMax Games Exclusives in 2021 Meeting - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Phil Spencer apparently made a "big decision" to make all ZeniMax games Xbox exclusive in a November 2021 meeting. For reference, the Bethesda deal was completed in March 2021. This might be the FTC's best shot.
  20. Would it be worth buying the game on PS5 instead for Spider-Man?
